Going to concerts is one of my favorite things ever. The energy you feel in the room driven by the adrenaline pumping through everyone’s vein is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Everyone is there to have a great time, and the whole experience is so refreshing for your soul.
Recently, I’ve been craving to go a good concert. Thankfully, DNCE answered my prayers! It was recently announced that DNCE is coming to the Hilton Coliseum in Ames on April 5th, and I am beyond excited. I’ve only dreamed that DNCE would be one of the most energetic and upbeat concerts to go to, and now in April I will have the opportunity to testify to that.
Their first album, DNCE, is one that I purchased when it was released back in November of 2016. I gave it some listens here and there, but I really didn’t appreciate it until I dived back into it at the beginning of 2017. It was then that I realized how incredible of a band DNCE is.
Never before have I heard music that is pure fun. I can only imagine that DNCE enters the studio and starts a jam session that would be comparable to real life Rock Band. In fact, I’ve been a huge advocate for getting every DNCE song on Rock Band. Every single one of their songs contains a funk that reflects what “groovy” meant in the past, but it is definitely a sound that belongs in today’s age. Each song is stylistically structured with elements of funk that makes DNCE feel like they craftily nurtured each song while acting upon the idea that every part of their job should be fun.
