Using DJ Khaled's "Keys to Success" To Live a Better Life

Every generation has a man who they look to as the pinnacle of knowledge and wisdom. A few names come to mind: The Dali Lama. Confucius. MLK. However, one man, another one, if you will, has risen to the top of our time to be our source of motivation and inspiration. That man is none other than DJ Khaled, and if you’re one of his thousands of followers on Snapchat, your life has no doubt been taken to another level of success by way of his countless words of motivation. Following Khaled’s advice is a surefire way of getting ahead in today’s world.

THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO EAT

This mantra of Khaled’s references the fact that when one achieves success, there are going to be countless naysayers (haters) still trying to bring you down. This simple saying is a good way to remind yourself that the best form of revenge is living a blessed life. Enjoy that lunch of egg whites, turkey sausage and water that they don’t want you to eat.

THERE WILL BE ROADBLOCKS IN LIFE… WE WILL OVERCOME THEM

Life is not a simple path from point A to point B. Along the path of success, there will be bumps in the road, or “roadblocks” as the DJ likes to call them. But they are nothing you can’t overcome. Whether it’s failing a test or getting pulled over by the Miami Maritime Police Patrol on your jet-ski, these roadblocks are not going to be able to stop you.

THEY NEVER SAID IT WAS EASY TO WIN MORE

As one of the most well-known and noteworthy people of our generation, DJ Khaled knows what success is, and he knows what it isn’t. Achieving success throughout life is anything but easy. If you’re willing to put in the hard work and dedication though, maybe one day you’ll be the one telling people the keys to success on your own snapchat story.

LIFE IS LIKE A SKY

DJ Khaled is a complicated man, and one who often speaks in riddles. One day, his snapchats will probably need a CliffsNotes style analysis in order to truly decipher the multitude of meanings behind his keys to success. In this one, though, he means this: sometimes, the sky will be clear and bright. Sometimes you’ll wake up and won’t be able to see the blue through the clouds. Life is the same way – but you can’t forget the blue sky on account of the clouds.

No one is too good for a little advice from time to time. And when said advice is coming from a visionary like DJ Khaled, I think it pays to listen.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
