Distance Doesn't Break A Friendship

Ironically, it brings the friends closer together.

Distance Doesn't Break A Friendship

I must admit that I was initially nervous when I realized that we would no longer be able to see each other every single day. It's so easy to say that you will never forget somebody, but what if we did forget about one another? I was worried that our treasured friendship would get lost amidst all of the emotions, hustle, and bustle that come along with beginning a new chapter of our lives. I knew that our friendship was bound to change as our lives went separate ways; however, I never anticipated that our friendship would actually grow stronger.

I am thankful that we can go weeks without seeing each other, yet nothing ever seems like it changes; we always pick right back up from where we left off. There is still a great benefit to a long distance friendship even though we can't see each other every day. This means that our reunions are even more memorable; they are something that we can hardly wait for as we begin to count down and make plans and something that is so exciting once the day finally arrives.

I am thankful that I have a support system in an entirely different place than my current location, and that I can be a support system to somebody far away as well. On days that it feels like nobody around me cares, I know that all I have to do is send a quick text and you will respond. I find it unique, yet comforting, that my biggest cheerleader, who relentlessly cheers me on, is so far away from the sideline.

I am thankful that you are eager to hear all my life stories, whether you personally know who these stories involve or not. Your attention to details that don't even impact you, but clearly are having a profound effect on my life, shows me that you truly care. You probably already know this, but it doesn't hurt for me to reiterate, I love listening to your stories just as much as I enjoy telling mine.

I have learned how to fully appreciate the time that we do get to spend together. Our long distance friendship is great because we are always there for each other, even when we can't physically be there. I never get tired retelling the hilarious memories that we have made together, and I look forward to all that we will experience in the future. Distance does not break a friendship; rather, it has ironically brought us even closer together.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
