The Disney Princesses were seemingly great role models for young kids. Now that we're older it's easy to find ways that those girls don't relate anything to our lives. It may feel like we're super far away from the Disney days, but they have some lessons for us to use even as we get older. Here are a few college/life lessons as they relate to Disney princesses.

Cinderella

Don't - go around trying to get your MRS degree. Ladies we need to do for ourselves and not look for a man to rescue us

Do- help your friends outs. Friends are your greater resource all throughout adulthood. Professors tell you your network can come right from your class and that true. BE the mice and do little deeds here and there or be your friends' fairy godmother do something big.

Snow White

Don't- take things from strangers. Just like the wicked witch poisoned Snow's apple strangers and weird guys can spike your drinks.

Do- Treat others the way you wish to be treated. The dwarfs took snow in and helped her until she was ready to leave. If you see someone struggling alone either drunk, lost etc, just ask if they need some help because you would want someone to look out for you too

Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

Don't- Give into to people's standards of beauty and lifestyle. Everyone thought she was weird for being beautiful but looking for substance in life.

Do- Speak up for what you believe in and stand your ground. Now that you're older there are so many opportunities to speak your mind, debates, forums, peaceful protests. Just like Belle stood up to the entire town about the goodness of the beast you have to stand up for what you believe in as well

Ariel

Don't- Sign away at things you don't understand without your parents notice. Great, you're an adult now that doesn't mean you automatically understand contracts, lease agreements or anything. So, before you end up losing your voice in a bad deal go over it with someone you trust.

Do - Go after what you want. So many people are going to try and tell you that your chances of having a solid career in your field or traveling the amount you want are out of reach but you have to go for them. Just like Ariel never gave up on Eric you can't give up on your dreams.

Jasmine

Don't- Act like you know it all. Jasmine got an attitude in this movie and almost got killed twice. Remember humility is one of the best qualities.

Do- Go out on your own and experience life. You can't be scared of what's out there you have to go out and find it

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
