Now, I know by now that every incoming college freshman has been given more unsolicited advice than they could’ve imagined, but, if I may, allow me to through my hat into the ring on a topic near and dear to my heart; eating.
1. Just because there are a lot of options doesn’t mean you should eat everything that looks good.
Trust me on this, all it will get you is a stomach ache and the freshman 15 real quick. I promise, the same food will come back around.2.On the same note, if you like the veggie at one station and the protein at another, it’s okay to mix and match.
3. After a while, dining hall food will become unappealing.
Just remember, when nothing looks good, cereal will always be there for you.4. IT IS OKAY TO EAT BY YOURSELF.
Let me repeat that for emphasis. It’s okay to eat by yourself. I promise no one is judging you. No one really cares.5.When you see fresh fruit or a veggie you like, eat it. These things don’t last forever.
6. Dessert is a treat. Keep it that way.
7.Don’t skip breakfast. I know it’s hard, but it seriously helps.
8.The salad bar is your friend.
