“I love you” is composed of seven letters and three words. But when it is said to a person, it conveys a thousand feelings. More often than not, displays of love and care are so subtle that we don’t even notice them. Love presents itself in actions long after the words have run their course. It’s found in the little things – being there when they say they will, offering unsolicited help, remembering the small details that bring joy to your life. As couples, we express love through our everyday actions, our gestures of kindness, our generosity, our attention, and our touch. But, mostly, we say it without even really realizing it. We say, “Drive safely”, “Hold my hand”, and we kiss each other goodnight. You don’t have to hear “I love you” to know that someone does. Listen carefully. People speak from the heart more often than you think.
"I miss you."
"I had an amazing time with you.""I still feel butterflies in my stomach."
"I feel so lucky to have you."
"I’m always here for you.""What did I do to deserve someone as great as you?""You’re my dream come true."
"I am happy just to see you happy.
Be careful." "How is your day so far?" "Call me when you get home so I know you’re safe." "I just wanted to hear your voice." "Do you need anything?" "I adore you." "You’re my best friend.""I’m so excited that we have so much time to be with each other."
"You leave me speechless."
"It will always be you and me."
"You are a blessing in disguise I will never forget."
"Every time I see you, you leave me breathless."
"You're the best thing that ever happened to me."
"Hey, it's our 19 month anniversary."
"Let me help you."
"I can't wait to see you."
"Thinking about you."
"You're everything I ever wanted and more."
These are some of my favorite ways individuals speak from the heart. People say I love you all the time - when they say, ‘take an umbrella, it’s raining,’ or ‘hurry back,’ or even ‘watch out, you’ll break your neck.’ There are hundreds of ways of wording it - you just have to listen for it.
