I Didn't Believe Them When They Said, "College Will Be Over Fast!"

When it came to scheduling classes for next semester, it didn't really dawn on me that I’d be out of college in no time! It's an exciting thing to think about when you're a sophomore and then a junior, but once you pull into senior year, man is it frustrating! So, here I am now, wrapping up my college career with the best grades that I can pull off and trying to figure out the rest of my life. College isn’t just any place to us -- it's home and moving away from home can be so difficult. Believe them when they say that it’ll be over in no time and then go out and make memories!

1. Even though professors didn’t really seem to care, we know they did because of those selfish attendance policies!

Coming to a new place was scary; we needed to feel like there was someone on our side. I know, our parents aren’t replaceable, but filling that void with another caring person is definitely a shot worth taking!

2. There’s a chance that after we graduate from college, we may never attend another college party and that’s okay!

Party while you can, but don’t lose sight of what you came to do. College is so awesome because you always have options. You don’t have to party, but when you need a drink or five, there’s always something going on!

3. You’ll meet some of the greatest (and the worst) people! I sure did!

College isn’t all about going to and from class; there is so much in between that people forget about! There are several opportunities to join organizations, explore who you are as a person and meet some amazing students who can teach you a thing or two! I’ve ran into some great people from all over the world during my time in college and I wouldn’t trade what I’ve learned from them for anything!

4. This is where you’ll have a lot of important firsts!

You’ll take your first jogging class, get your first job, buy a first car -- there will be a lot of firsts during this time, and you won’t forget them, even if you tried!

5. You won’t leave here the same person you came as.

You’ll notice yourself changing in either a good or bad way and you’ll be able to do as you please with those changes. You’ll steer yourself in many directions. Hopefully they all lead to graduation in the end.

This isn’t a basic guide to capturing college, and there’s no right way to do it except for your own way. You’ll get confused and may even think about giving up, but you’ll find your way and that’s all that matters. Some people take college as a joke, so for those of us who take it serious, this is for you. It’ll be over faster than you think, so make this the best ride of your life!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
