If you live in Indianapolis you’ve probably been to Mass Ave but if you haven’t you are definitely missing out. When I came into my freshman year my plan was to try as many different restaurants as possible on my college budget since I came from a town with two sit down restaurants. When I discovered Mass Ave I knew that this was the place that I really wanted to try and eat as many restaurants and visit a few of the places along the road, its one of my favorites! So after many meals over my freshman year at IUPUI I have came up with a list of a few of my favorite eats that are worthy of being checked out!
1. Bru Burger
If you love a good burger and fry with literally some of the best service I have ever received then you need to go to Bru Burger. They have a variety of appetizers but I recommend the Bru Fries, they make all their own dipping sauces and their black pepper mayo is to die for. They have almost twenty different kinds of burgers and I have never had a bad one, get the garlic three cheese, it won’t disappoint. Another one of my favorite things about Bru is they have outdoor seating so you can enjoy people watching while you eat! Seriously get up and sprint there right now, it’s worth it.
2. Bakersfield
I have a special place in my heart for a good taco, some guacamole and homemade tortilla chips. Bakersfield has all three, plus some delicious margaritas ( or so I’ve been told). The atmosphere is definitely different the top floor is all a bar but downstairs they have long picnic tables that people can eat at. They serve Mexican food, play Johnny cash and have Willie nelson wearing pirate hats on the wall. They make their taco shells there and all of their ingredients are delicious. My favorite tacos are the pollo rojo and fish, if you’ve never been there it should definitely be on your bucket list for this summer!
3.Bazbeaux
Apparently, or so I have heard, there are people in the world that don’t like pizza. This is confusing to me because pizza in itself is a food group, I could eat for every meal. I also believe that if you don’t like pizza Bazbeaux could change your mind, its delicious. They offer a variety of specialty pizzas that range from flavors of seafood to Mediterranean. My personal favorite is their BBQ and Pizza Alla Quattro Formaggio (in other words a pizza with cheese from heaven that is so good you may cry). They deliver too! Seriously, everyone needs a slice of this pizza.
These would be my top three favorite places to eat, so if you decide to go and check them out I am always up for some good food! Life is too short to waste your money on more important things when you could be buying all these delicious meals. Seriously, ask my mom, my bank statement is solely dedicated to food! Make sure you eat some for me when you go!
