Demi Lovato has been dropping some seriously empowering new music. Now, I am not a feminist by any means, but when I’m having a ‘wow I can’t believe this’ moment I turn to Demi Lovato’s music immediately. From "Sorry Not Sorry" to "Confident" to "You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore", Demi has brought on the reality of ‘hookup culture’ to music.

The hookup culture of our generation has become something quite absurd, as traditional dating has practically been shunned when in fact no one asked for that.

Her new album, "Tell Me You Love Me", is a force to be reckoned with. "Sorry Not Sorry" emphasizes no apologies for Demi being who she is and she is telling someone, most likely an ex, that she is much better off without them than she was with them.

Now she’s essentially singing about how he can’t have her and she’s the best one out there. This song elicits confidence and sass from every note and it’s the ultimate car jam because of it.

"Tell Me You Love Me" takes the opposite tone of "Sorry Not Sorry", saying how she ‘needs someone on days like this’, which everyone can relate to. There’s always someone that you need on bad days, there’s someone that you want to turn to, and I think that with this song Demi is still being just as powerful as she was in "Sorry Not Sorry".

Although she is singing about how she needs someone, its someone who is there with her through everything and someone that she will be there for through everything. It’s someone that she truly loves.

"You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore" is slowed down compared to her other songs, and she is describing a person that she doesn’t need anymore. She says how the future is without the person who she didn’t know what she was doing within the past.

She isn’t going to fall for the games because the person isn’t right for her and she knows that now. It may have taken her time to see it, but now that she has, they don’t do it for her anymore.

A bit of an older song, "Confident", reminds me of "Sorry Not Sorry" in the tone and type of message. Demi is saying that it's her game and that you better get on board or you’re getting left behind.

She’s saying that she’s been underrated and that there’s nothing wrong with her "Confidence". Her attitude through this song is inspiring and is something that not many people can easily feel which makes her even more impressive.

I think that a lot of Demi’s newer songs are quite relevant to many girls and young women due to the powerful message behind each song. There’s one that everyone can relate to, whether you don’t need to be with someone, whether you’re absolutely in love with someone, or you are completely and totally over someone.

Demi has proven to be a powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with in 2018, topping Spotify charts week after week. (Oh, and did I mention she shot the "Tell Me You Love Me" music video with Jesse Williams, Dr. Jackson Avery from Grey's, as a wedding scene? Yeah, she did that.)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
