Recently there has been an update which threw me for a loop when I re-opened the Pokemon GO application.

There has been rumors such as getting upgrades of various items and also more Pokemon being added into the game. It seemed like it would take forever until it came into fruition. Now if you have deleted the game because it was impossible to walk your game or you got annoyed because it seemed like you never evolved any, that is understandable. For a short while I started to just ignore the game and was annoyed at how much space it takes up on my phones memory but with this new update I would recommend you re-download it NOW!

There are now generation two Pokemon involved in the game and it seems to be fairly easy to find a lot of them! Go to your typical hotspots that tend to have more poke stops that way you can set up a lure and ta-da, you will see them popping up like crazy! The majority that are popping up are from generation 2 instead of the usual 1 which makes it more exciting and you can catch more new Pokemon and add them into your Pokedex. There are also two new evolutions for Eevee! Umbreon and Espeon can actually be evolved if you change their names which was the hack for Eevee in generation 1 as well. For Espeon it is Sakura while Umbreon is Tamao. If you grew up watching Pokemon you know that there were five Kimono sisters which each owned one of the five evolutions of Eevee. It is a nice way to incorporate a little throw-back into the game if you are a die hard fan and grew up with Pokemon.

What is also included are more berries. Two to be exact and one offers the Pokemon to slow down that way it can be easier to catch, and also one that gives you double the candy when you do capture the Pokemon. However, you cannot use multiple berries at once which is the downfall but at least you now have more options.

There are changes such as the way you select the berries and balls when you are catching Pokemon which seems to be more useful, convenient and comfortable. Also, it depends which Pokemon you are catching but there is more animations and also movement such as moving up and down, side to side and diagonally. It offers a more difficult approach to catch Pokemon.

To catch evolved Pokemon you actually receive a candy boost instead of receiving the same three regardless of which evolved form or not you do catch which gives incentive to still catch those even if they are evolved. With this you also earn more stardust so this is a big improvement on what was previously implemented.

Gender is also evident now which I have not quite figured out why but I assume it will be something important in the near future. I have heard it may be for breeding purposes but all we can do is wait until the next update.

There are too many changes which brings the excitement back into the game and also many more to hopefully arise!
