Anyone who is still watching "Pretty Little Liars" at this point knows, you have to be a very patient person. Also, if it seems obvious, it’s probably wrong. You know, when they make someone out to be creepy, they probably just have a weird personality that we never got to see before. They’ve led us on to believe almost everyone on the show was A. Some are worse than others when thinking back on them. So here is a definitive ranking of the of the most convincing fake As.
1. Jenna Marshall.
When thinking logically about who would be A, Jenna is the answer. Alison and the girls (mainly Alison) are the ones who caused Jenna to go blind. Who wouldn't want to get revenge after that? When it was assumed by the girls that she might be A, out of all the others on the list, she had the
best reason to be.
2. Andrew Campbell.
I didn't know why or how Andrew would be A, but Season 5 had me (as well as many others) thinking that Andrew was A. It made little to no sense, but dude was C-R-E-E-P-Y. He was undeniably hot so who would want him to be A? He had the least reason, but they definitely made it as convincing as possible.
3. Melissa Hastings.
Melissa hated Alison, everyone knew. She had a vengeance against her after the Ian-Alison drama. Evidence was stacking up before it was revealed that Mona was A (well, one of the As) that had the girls convinced that she could be A, as well as us viewers.
4. Ezra Fitz.
For the record, I never thought Ezra was A because Ezra for life, but the show really wanted to you to believe that he was. They made him really weird and creepy and like a whole different Ezra than we'd seen before. It seemed unlikely before, but they slowly fed us clips that connected dots before finally clearing his name.
5. Toby Cavanaugh.
OK, poor Toby. The girls thought he was A in Season 1 because they think everyone is A. And though he did have the motive and the tattoo which was questionable, it was too soon in the show to really believe they were telling us who A was then. And then of course there was the time that he was kind of A. Well, a henchman, but not for real.
6. Mrs. DiLaurentis.
Her time in the A spotlight was short lived (no pun intended), but when she was under suspicion, she was kind of convincing. She gave off the chill factor. And then the clean sheets comment she made to Spenser right after she found her bed full of dirt made you scratch your chin. There really wasn't any evidence against her (besides Ezra's theory), especially after that jump A made.
7. Shana Fring.
First of all, who knew she had a last name? Thank you imdb.com for that gem. Shana's A affiliation was a little weird and really too short for suspicion. She was friends with Alison in Georgia, but then she changed sides because she wanted to avenge the wrongings against Jenna. She might have acted like A and dressed like A, but she was just another false A.8. Paige McCullers.
She was pretty unconvincing as a possible A, but she did have a history with Alison and they found some evidence on her that made her seem guilty. But she never really acted weird or A-like some of the others accused of being A.
9. Ian Thomas.
Like Toby the first time around, it was way too early for us to know who A was. No way they were going to reveal A in the first season of a popular show. They tried to make it seem like he was guilty of killing Alison, which also translated to A. That was until A killed him and completely got rid of that possibility.
