Since it has been three years since the last Gossip Girl aired, I am feeling immense amounts of withdrawal from my favorite Upper East Side cast. After reflecting over the six great seasons, I decided to rank the characters from worst to best. Spoilers if you have not finished Gossip Girl (you should be ashamed).
Starting off the countdown at number 10 is Ivy Dickens. Ivy or Charlie, lied the whole time she visited the Upper East Side. All she did was spread rumors and make life harder for everyone. While writing this list, I almost forgot she was a character.
Number 9 is Vanessa Abrams. What can I say? She swooped in and ruined one of the best relationships to hit the screen. She was not trustworthy or loyal to the Upper East Siders even though they included her. Also let me just say, she had the most interesting wardrobe.
Next up at number 8 is Jenny Humphrey. Sure Jenny was all cute and innocent, but then something switched. She turned into a raging bitch who did not care about any of her friends or family. She did not appear in season 5 which is why little Jenny is number 8 on the list.
Coming in at 7 is Dan Humphrey. Besides the fact that he is gossip girl, he doesn't really contribute much to the show. He was always shady. Gossip Girl even gave him the nickname Lonely Boy. Sure, he dated Serena, worked his way up the social ladder and is a central character, but all I can really say is meh.
Georgina Sparks is in the number 6 spot. She was deceitful and REALLY made life harder for people. Whether it was drugging Serena or stealing boyfriends, she really made a mess. She was a character you love to hate and she kept things interesting.
Don't hate me for this one, but Serena van der Woodsen is number 5. Yes, she is the MAIN character, but she honestly not that great. Besides her beauty and her killer wardrobe, she was not a very good friend. She twisted things and was very promiscuous. I used to love her, but after getting married to Dan, she definitely deserves this. I kind of feel bad about this one, but Nate Archibald is number 4. He was a great character, and not to mention very attractive. He always kept things interesting and those blue eyes and voice could make any girl swoon. He, unfortunately, did not have a major romance, because Serena screwed him over. We love you Nate, and you can always give me a call.Blair Waldorf is number 3. She was a great character and a much better friend than Serena. Sure... she had her rough patches and could be catty at times, but her love for Chuck made her a better character. Not to mention her awesome headbands, wardrobe and that she basically owned the Upper East Side. Being friends with Blair Waldorf is like being royalty.
Number 2 is Dorota. Everyone loves Dorota. She was so loyal and always there to help. She was so much more than a house keeper and would have done anything for Blair. Dorota was the best secret keeper and someone you wanted to have on your side. She made sure that the girls plans went flawlessly and helped in most of them. Dorota is definitely deserving of runner up on this list. Finally, number 1 is Chuck Bass. His love for Blair had me aching to be her. He would have done anything for her and never stopped to amaze viewers with the crazy dates he would take her on. I wish that Chuck Bass was my boyfriend, and I am sure I am not the only girl who wishes that. He was not that good looking in season one but he quickly learned that to have Blair, he needed to change his style. Chuck Bass went through hardship on the show, but always made it out on top, which is why he will always be number 1.So, that is the list. I know we all miss Gossip Girl, so I guess it's a good thing it is on Netflix. Make sure to catch up with your favorite Upper East Siders.
You know you love me,
