There are certain party themes you will encounter in college, no matter where you go to school. As follows is list of the worst of the ~interesting~ themes you will undoubtedly attend while at college!
1. Kegs and Eggs
The name of this theme says it all. When I first heard of "Kegs and Eggs", I was excited to finally have food at a party, let alone a frat party. So, I arrive at the house, ready to eat. Little did I know that "Kegs and Eggs" was really just another name for a day party with absolutely no food, let alone eggs. So, the deceiving name of this theme definitively lands it the number one spot on the list.
2. Toga
The most cliched of them all--the toga party. First of all, no one wants to wrap a clean white sheet around themselves awkwardly only to have someone spill on them within the first ten minutes of the party. Secondly, there's something seriously disturbing about seeing frat guys loosely wrapped in a sheet at a party. Moral of the story, the oldest themes in the book are not always the best.
3. CEOs and Office Hoes
In this day and age, especially at American, it isn't politically correct to call a party anything with the word "hoe". The theme of "CEOs and Office Hoes" is especially problematic because of the distinction of men as the boss in the workplace, with the female being the subordinate with a derogatory name.
4. ABC (Anything But Clothes)
The classic ABC party is an outward attempt of frat guys everywhere to get the female partygoer to wear as little clothing as possible. At least the other themes offer more of a variety in terms of coverage choices for females. In addition, the ABC party creates unnecessary stress in terms of planning the logistics of your outfit.
5. Hawaiian Luau
The luau party isn't a particulary horrible in terms of decor/outfit choices, but the theme is completely overdone to the point where the luau outfit begins to feel like an everyday outfit instead of a costume.
6. White Trash
The "white trash" themed party is problematic mainly because it targets a group of people and charcaterizes them as "trashy" for certain characteristics or practices. Also, the attire for a "white trash" party is very subjective, which leads to confusion and very different ideas of the party theme.
