After becoming acquainted with Jonas the blizzard, I am convinced winter is here. There were a few points this weekend, after the flurries started accumulating, that I had to stop in my tracks to catch my breath as I trudged through snow that reached my knees. Paths, recently paved, were being tucked away in blankets, immediately after the shovel left the ground.
There were points where I felt it would be most efficient to nose-dive over a wall of snow to get onto the sidewalk, belly-flop style. You could say I had some difficulty, but of course I wasn't the only one.
Here are 11 problems we all face while confronting the snow and examples to ease your mind –– in case you're beating yourself up about your center of gravity like I have been this past weekend. It's not us, it's the snow.
1. Everything you're wearing is heavy
One wrong move and you're completely down. Your balance is easily thrown by the treacherous ice monster.
2. Stepping with too much momentum
This is the only thing cuter than a baby in a snowsuit.
The monkey seems to maneuvering better than any of us, but still with difficulty since they're probably not used to wearing snowsuits. Although I'm happy this video exists, I worry as to why this monkey is a pet.
3. A walk to the store is a journey
On Saturday, I found myself wondering, 'who would drive in this?' before it hit me: 'why am I walking in this?' In order to get coffee and snacks for the day, I took a detour home to stop at the gas station, the only place open. Were my honey-mustard pretzels and chocolate-drizzled popcorn worth exuding all that effort and energy? My answer? Yes; in the long-run, of course.
In the case above, the liquor bottle seemed worth it, too. I'm not sure why the video has to state that the women are Russian, though.
4. Any previous luck runs out
Skip to 2:33. The sadness at the end of that close-up. Did he not know the snowmobile wasn't a jet ski?
But I guess we all possess that attitude at some time or another. I assumed I could handle walking in the blizzard, and then the Snow Miser takes a swing.
5. And you try to make a difference
But there is no hope.
6. Then you think you have it
This is a pretty cool trick for making a path. But wait for it –– the gold nugget of the video. Skip to 1:26 if you're impatient.
7. And you can handle anything
She spoke too soon.
8. But then you're hit by a wall
Literally.
9. And other moving objects
10. But you still look cute
Well, maybe not as cute as this pup.
11. Look around - Everyone is falling
So don't let your fumbles get you down –– the snow will do it enough for you.
Ah, the serenity of watching others make the same mistake as I do; it's calming and reassuring. No one stands a chance against the Snow Miser.

Mister Icicle
[He's] Mister Ten Below
Oh, he's too much.
