To My Big Brother,

There hasn't been a day in my life without you in it. Since the day I was born, you have always been apart of my life–until you moved... It's all been different since you've moved and there are some nights I miss you like crazy and just want you back home. Tonight was one of those nights.

So, here are three things I want you to know...

1. You have laid such a firm and solid foundation for our family name and getting to walk in your footsteps is an honor.

You are the reason our family's name is well known throughout our town. Your kind heart, gentle spirit, and love for people have been inspiring to so many people, including myself.

2. You will never understand how much of an influence you have had on me. You have always been such a good example of what a man with respect and integrity looks like.

You have shown me how I should be treated by a man. You have shown me that guys can be sensitive too and that their hearts break too. You have shown me so much and I can't thank you enough for teaching me these things over the years.

3. You have shown me that it is safe to be myself. You have shown me that it's always okay to go back home, that home is always safe.

You have shown me what it is like to experience peace and humility. You have shown me that you can still choose to be positive in the darkness. You have shown me the ropes to being a good, trustworthy, and respectful person-- even if I haven't grasped onto it all yet. You have been such a good role model for me and I still continue to look up to you.

Thank you for always protecting me and offering me advice when life doesn't make sense. Some days, I wish you lived closer so that I could talk to you more often. However, I like being able to catch up when you come home.

It is an honor to be your little sister. I can't imagine my life without you.

I love you,

Your little sister

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
