Dear Winter Break,
After looking forward to time with you after my brief visit with Thanksgiving Break, you finally came to town. I was so eager for your visit that when you first arrived, I may have done a little happy dance. Let’s be honest, you are a much more welcome visitor than Finals Week who tends to be a very high-maintence and draining guest to have (don't tell her I said that).
The first day you arrived, I was exhausted from my previous guest (Finals Week), but with you finally in town, we slept in late and did absolutely nothing productive all day long. That was a great day. After recuperating from my exhaustion, it was all fun and adventure. Together, we had the time of our lives. Weekend trips, regular get-togethers with other friends, and holiday parties filled our schedule and we soaked up every minute of it. We went iceskating, shopping, and watched a lot of Netflix. We were even a little productive together-- but only a little. Thanks to you, the last month has been a rush of unforgettable memories.
My only regret is not appreciating my time with you as much as I should have in the moment. Now that our time together is up and school is starting back, I can only treasure the memories while I wish that your visit wasn’t so short. I reflect on our time together with an understandable bitter-sweetness.
As I prepare myself to say goodbye to you, I also brace myself for the busy rush of school to start back. Sadly, I know you must leave and I must start back my regular school schedule. That's life. However, I look forward to our future adventures together during your next visit.
Although our time together seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye, it was filled with moments and memories that I’ll never forget. I’m sad to see you leave so soon, but grateful for the time we did have together. Thanks for filling this last month with fun, laughter, and adventure.
So long until next year, my friend.
Sincerely,
The girl who isn't ready for you to leave
