Dear Future Self

When life knocks you down, look up to the Heavens.

Dear Future Self

Dear Future Self,

As time gets faster, you grow older, and the days seem shorter, here are a few things I would like for you to remember when life is unraveling before your eyes.

One, Christ is still on the throne. I chose this as the first order of business on your reminder checklist (because I know how you function and you need a detailed summary of everything) to remind you that no matter the assignment, chore, or responsibility you may have placed before you, you need to first place it at the feet of Jesus. This temporary life has a funny way of providing distractions from eternal joy by instilling fears and worries into your precious, yet fragile, mind. Lay down your mess, distress, depress, and start to express the access to the One who will bless because time is of the essence, and you need only His presence to be everything He has desired for you, dear daughter of God.

Two, when you feel life is overwhelming, lay down your pride and pick up your Bible. The Lord has called you to take up your own cross daily, so I challenge you to humble yourself by giving it to Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 calls you to lean not on your own understanding, because John 13:7 reminds you that one day you may understand the wonders of the Father. Have patience for purpose with prosperity knowing God provides plans with provision, but don't forget that it's not your mission. Let all you do glorify His covenant because He died to give you life that is abundant. Don't take for granted His Word that is spoken, for It reflects the only true love token - His cross and every nail, the debt you owed but He paid your bail. Christ is not limited, yet this world lacks focus on what has already been manifested. Spend time with Him who cares for you, and allow Jesus to be your firm foundation as an anchor for your soul because He won't let you drown.

Three, when you can no longer stand, kneel to pray. Accepting your failures is adored by the Father because it is a representation that you acknowledge that you are not perfect, only He is. I want you to be reminded that there are too many open altars and closed hearts. He wants to meet you where you are, but you need to allow Him in. Cling to the Cross Christ endured to place the crown on your head, so you can bloom like a rose because He took the thorns instead. Being a Christian is not favored by the world, but it is rewarded by God. When faced with dilemmas, just talk with Him. I cannot promise you that He will provide what you want, but I guarantee He will supply what you need.

I cannot wait to see where the Holy Spirit takes you, but until then, don't rush anything.

Love,
Yourself

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
