Dear Retail Companies, Stop Blaming Customers For Your Stores Closing

A word of advice, retail companies...

Dear Retail Companies, Stop Blaming Customers For Your Stores Closing

Apparently, the latest thing is online shopping. And don't get me wrong – I love to aimlessly shop online when there's nothing else better to do, but there are so many stores that are closing due to the fact that everyone apparently wants to shop online instead. Well, as a customer, I would much rather go into a store to buy the things that I want, but this is why I shop online:

"Online Exclusives"

What...? Okay, my problem when it comes to going to the mall is the fact that most stores sell their "better products" online. I used to work at Abercrombie and Fitch and rather than carrying the better quality or better-looking clothes in all of their stores, they would only sell them either in their flagship stores (which are located in big cities like NYC) OR they would sell them as online exclusives. So yeah, don't blame the customer for wanting to shop online when your greatest products are only sold online. It's almost like you're forcing us to shop online and it sucks.

It's not the fact that I don't want to go to your store...

...It's the fact that these online-only stores have more trendy clothes. For example, Bebe used to be my GO-TO store whenever it came to buying hot dresses, but there are so many online stores that are selling these dresses for a lot cheaper, and they're a lot more trendy. Personally, I'd much rather drive to the mall to go into a store and get what I want compared to purchasing something online because I'd much rather have it within a few hours than wait a few days to receive it in the mail (AKA: no patience). Another thing is, I would also rather be able to try on my clothes before I buy them. But when you're getting more trendy clothes at a better price, there's no competition. If ASOS had a store in my local mall, I'd be there every single day. So it's not the fact that I'd rather shop online, it's the fact that your prices are too high and your designs are going downhill.

Word Of Advice:

Open up stores and put your best clothes in it. Get some inspiration from the trendy online stores that are taking over and stealing all of your sales, and you won't have to blame us customers for your stores closing. If you provide cute clothes at a decent price, I'd be much happier. Waiting a few days to receive something you ordered is frustrating, and I'm not willing to pay $30 to have overnight shipping.
