Dear Netflix, We Need To Talk

You did something unforgivable...took away seasons of "Bob’s Burgers."

Dear Netflix,

I feel betrayed. I have been a loyal customer for about 2.5 years now and I have binged countless shows, laughed at your originals, and watched childhood classics. Recently, you have updated the shows and movies that are available for streaming. I was so excited to see some of my favorite movies and some other movies that I had been curious about seeing, but you did something unforgivable— you took away seasons of "Bob’s Burgers."

In all seriousness, I am heartbroken. That was one of the first shows that I ever binged, and I have been patiently waiting for the new season to be available. I could not wait to hear more of Jean and Linda’s songs, see if any of Louise’s mischief would accomplish what she wanted, relate to Bob when he gets crabby, and sympathize with Tina when she lays on the floor and moans that the world is ending.

Now, all of my hopes have been shattered because there is only one season available on Netflix.

I do not understand. I tried to be okay with this. I tried to tell myself that there are other ways that I can find the new season. I tried to tell myself that I do not like the show as much as I thought I did, but so far, I have had no luck. I still love "Bob’s Burgers."

To fill this gap that has been left in my life, I have been taking quizzes to see which character I am. Watching YouTube videos of some of my favorite scenes. Eating ice cream to drown away my sorrows.

Honestly, I am more sad for the people that have not had the joy of watching the show yet. They will never know anything about the Belcher’s beyond season one (and let’s be honest, shows do not get good until at least season 2.) I have felt immeasurable pain when someone asks me what show they should binge on Netflix and I cannot tell them to watch "Bob’s Burgers." My heart aches inside of my chest, and I have to stop a tear from rolling down my face.

I do not understand what happened. Were you getting too many views on the show? Do you want people to unsubscribe to you? It makes no sense. What can we do to get it back? We all pay our monthly subscription, what more could you want? I am desperate at this point.

I am begging you Netflix. Please, bring back "Bob’s Burgers!"

Sincerely,

A loyal subscriber and Bob’s Burgers fan

P.S. I'm serious. Bring it back or else.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
