Dear mom, I love you to the moon and back.
You are beautiful inside and out.
You have always filled in the pieces that I lack.
And you love everyone around you without a doubt.
You cheered me on even when I failed.
You stood beside me even when I was wrong.
You've been knocked down countless times, but you have never not prevailed.
And in your arms, I will forever belong.
Mom, you make it look so easy.
You fold the laundry, cook dinner, and manage to appear at every event like magic.
You taught me that real men aren't attracted to sleazy.
And you told me that losing certain friends wasn't all that tragic.
You have been my greatest friend all my life.
You made me stand on my own and be unconstrained.
Because of you, I know, I need to be self-sufficient before I become a wife.
You have no idea how much knowledge I have gained.
You have repeatedly said being a mom has been your greatest gift.
What I haven't said enough, is that being your daughter is my favorite treasure.
My life has seemed so swift.
But I am telling you now that having you as a mom has also been my greatest pleasure.
Mom, you are the reason I know how to properly pack.
And you are the reason my young adult life has stayed on track.
You continuously teach me that putting myself first is not greedy.
But that everyone else should learn to not be so needy.
Your entrance to a room makes me calm and serene.
And your slight OCD has ingrained in me that the best houses are clean.
I guess what I am trying to say is that being a mom isn't a walk in the park.
So, I promise for the rest of your life you will never have to stand alone in the dark.
Dear mom, I love you to the moon and back.
