The excitement is through the roof! The nerves are exploding! Who is going to be my Big?! Is it who I wanted??

Advice: Stop and enjoy this moment. This is one of the best moments of your journey into being a Sister!

Don’t worry about anything; your big has been working and preparing for you with thoughts and gifts. No matter what your big is going to be there for you. Well, She better be! But honestly, now that I have been where you are I understand how much time and effort Bigs put in before Big/Little Reveal day. The worrying if their little is going to like them and all the gifts they just spent countless hours making. However, we already know for that moment when you run up to them, you will be so excited to finally get your Big. The smile on your face is our reward!

Let nothing come in the way of this moment; enjoy it.

However, I must warm you it is both the little and big’s responsibility to communicate. The big/little relationships you see that are super tight do not just magically appear. Talk, hang out, get to know each other. Make this sister-ship your own. But know that if you don’t hang out all time or talk constantly, that it will be okay! That’s mine relationship, and I know at the end of that day she will be there if I truly need her. She is my big no matter what!

When you need someone to hold you while you cry, she will be there.

When you need someone to rant to, she will be there.

When you need someone to eat junk with, she will be there.

When you need advice, she is there.

When you need a random road trip, she is there.

When you need to talk about your future, she is there.

When you need your Big, she will be there!

Sisterhood is what you make it. Your big will welcome you with open arms! Open yours back and enjoy this moment! Be there for her!

It’s big little time. You are going to love it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
