Dear Education major,

You are the future. I know finals can be stressful. You have a million papers to write about how you'll one day teach your students, and all you've learned from your teachers. Sometimes the tests are too stressful, but before you stress yourself out and wonder if it's all worth it, remember these things:

1. Your future classroom

You've been dreaming about it forever. Your own desk filled with assignments to grade, and your students sitting in front of you. You have your class decorated the way you want; cheesy motivational posters and all.

2. Your graduation cap

You finally get to decorate your cap! Of course, a fake apple with your teacher name (Mr./Ms./Miss./Mrs.) is protocol, but you can get crafty and add a little something extra, like a ruler or a pencil.

3. School supply shopping

One guilty pleasure nearly ALL education majors have is that they love to shop for school supplies. Think of all the supply shopping you'll get to do. The 64 pack of Crayola crayons, Sharpies in every color, a perfect red ball-point pen for grading papers.

4. Being on the other side

You will soon be on the other side of the desks, in front of the class, teaching your heart away.

5. Teacher clothes

You'll get to go and pick out your dressy clothes and finally get to dress like the inner 50-year-old that you are.

6. Teacher friends

You'll finally have your friends who also like dressing like they're 50 years old.

7. Lesson plans

One of the most exciting and relaxing parts of being a teacher.

8. Being at school

Face it, one of your favorite places is school. You've always loved it, you former teacher's pet.

9. Coffee

Need I say more?

10. Your future students.

If you haven't practiced how you'll introduce yourself on the first day, then you're lying. Everything you are doing right now is for them. You'll be their guide, so look forward to all the students you will inspire.

You have a lot to look forward to as a teacher. Hang in there, it's worth it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
