Lets be honest, we all know that wall isn't getting built. It took years to repair the Walt Whitman bridge, and that's not even two and a half miles long. The I-35 in Texas has been under construction for five years and has two more to go. All of New Jersey's highway construction has come to a grinding halt. There's no way a nearly 2,000 mile long wall is getting built in four, or even eight years. So with the false claim of the wall out of the way, let's talk about the decisions you actually can make.

You've been very clear about your opinions on numerous different issues affecting the United States right now. From wanting to punish women for receiving abortions and defunding Planned Parenthood, to repealing the gay marriage laws, to deporting undocumented immigrants, you have some pretty negative thoughts on these issues. So why don't we talk about those issues.

Let's talk about Planned Parenthood first. While it may seem hard to believe, this organization doesn't just perform abortions. They provide low cost medical care to those who can not afford to go to an OB/GYN practice. They provide everything from health screenings, to reproductive education, to birth control methods. You know, basically every step to avoid unwanted pregnancies that could result in an abortion? And on the topic of abortions, you do realize not everyone who receives one is getting it because they want to? There are people who receive abortions because the pregnancy could be detrimental to mother and infant health. What if, after receiving an amniotic fluid test, its determined that the fetus will be born with a genetic or other form of defect? What if that defect will result in the infant suffering for a few years before dying before it reaches the age of six? Will you still force the mother, and by extension that child, to suffer in that way? Or what if a thirteen year old girl is grabbed by a stranger walking home from school, is raped, and ends up pregnant? Would you force her to go through with a pregnancy and give birth to a child when she is a child herself? But then again, you WERE the one talking about your infant daughters potential future breasts, so you probably don't care about child rape anyway.

So then what about the gay marriage laws. However you decide to repeal them, whether it's by putting the right to decide back in the hands of individual states, or by federally making it illegal throughout the country, you will be taking a basic human right away from human beings. No matter what your argument for not wanting gay marriage to be legal, it should not be a right that can be taken away. If you believe it's sinful, that's fine, but we do not live in a theocracy, and religious beliefs do not equal laws. After all, divorce is also a sin, and you've had two of those.

How about the issue of deportation? While it's true, our border needs to be stronger, there is a major difference between preventing more people from entering and condemning those who have made a life here already. Currently there are thousands of children, born in the United States, and thus given American citizenship, who are living in foster care because their parents have been deported. Thousands of essentially orphaned children, who cannot legally use the basis of immediate relatives as a means to help their parents legally move to the United States until they are twenty- one years old. That would be like you being forced away from your ten year old son for the next eleven years of his life. Oh, but you believe raising children is the woman's job, so you probably wouldn't mind.

There are numerous other claims that you have made throughout the past year that have infuriated people across the nation, but at the end of the day, you are the one who was elected as our future president. And so I ask you, how many more Brock Turner situations will there be? How many women will die because they can't receive life saving abortions? How many newborns will suffer their entire lives until their certain death? How many more children, citizens of this great nation, need to be orphaned? How many basic human rights will be taken away? Come January, you will take a position of great power. It will be up to you to decide what to do with it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
