Congrats! You have just finished three months out of your six month jail sentence for raping a young woman at an off campus party. I bet you are really excited to go home and enjoy that nice rib eye steak with your Dad. I hope you aren’t too scarred from your three month stay, and that it was everything you thought it would be. Your parents must be so proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished over the last few months. Don’t worry though, it will get much better for you from here.
If there is the slightest chance in the world that you are going to be reading this, I want you to know that you deserve nothing but the worst - and you will get exactly that out of life. Whatever chances of success you had a few months ago are gone. I can’t even think of a word to describe how awful of a human being you are. Even though you may think you got away with it, you will be paying for what you have done to that young woman, and how you cheated the system for the rest of your life; which is much better of a punishment than the worst and longest sentence anyone could have at the worst prison in the world. You are the most hated person in the world, and you will have to face that every single day for the rest of your life.
As you may be trying to eventually get your life back to normal, here’s another fun fact. Your life will never be normal ever again. Any chances of success that you had before are down the toilet. There is no University that would ever accept you in their right mind. No matter how well written your college essay is and how high your GPA is. No one wants a rapist on their campus. No one wants a rapist in their workplace. No one wants a rapist in their neighborhood. No one want’s a rapist as their friend. No one wants to even breathe the same air as someone who not only is a rapist, but is justifying their actions with alcohol. No one will ever in a million years would want you as their significant other. Hope you really enjoyed your twenty minutes of action because that is the only action you will ever be getting for as long as you live. The judicial system may have let you off with a light sentencing, but every young woman who has a cell phone and social media account knows who you are, and that’s not a good thing.
You have left a stamp on society, and have completely altered the rape culture on college campuses. I have just as much of a right to get as drunk as I would like at a party as you do and not have to be scared about being attacked by a drunk and sexually frustrated boy. Young women shouldn’t have to monitor themselves and their lives in any way to make sure someone doesn’t attack them in the way that you attacked your survivor. Not the stamp I bet you intended to leave on society, but you did. You ruined your life , you’ve forever altered the life of your survivor, and have created many new fears in women in general. Keep feeling bad for yourself, because I don’t think there are many people that feel bad for you.
