Dear Best Friend At A Different College,
I miss you, like, a lot. I miss seeing your smiling face, and the way your hugs comfort me. I know you're having the time of your life, just like me, but I can't help but wish you were here to experience it all with me.
We conquered middle school together, and high school too, and I can't help but wonder what it would be like if you conquered college with me, too. We won't be cheering for the same football teams, or laughing at our old inside jokes; we won't be dancing until midnight to Hannah Montana, and making friendship bracelets. We won't have spontaneous runs for four dozen doughnuts at eleven at night, or random trips to different cities to have an adventure. That kills me, but I know it will be OK because we love each other. Heck, we have matching tattoos.
I hope you know that I think about you every single day and that I can't wait until the next time we can talk on the phone, or FaceTime. Thank you for letting me send you five different pictures for outfits for the first day. Thank you for giving me advice about that guy throughout all the years. Thank you for sticking with me through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thank you for letting me cry on your shoulder, thank you for your warm embrace telling me everything is going to be okay, and I know it will be because I have you. Thank you for your back scratches, and dance sessions, thank you for the car karaoke sessions to songs we love.
Thank you for being you, and for letting me, be me. I will never be able to replace you, and your laugh, and your terrible jokes, but I've started saying them too, and thanks for laughing at mine as well. As I write this, sitting in my dorm, I can't wait for you to read this, my chest leaps with excitement as I think about you reading this and smiling, as I am right now, and then having a heavy heart because I miss you like crazy. Thank you, I love you.
Sincerely,
Your best friend.
