At home, many of us have a beloved companion that nothing else compares to. Whether it’s a furry friend or covered in scales, pets and their humans share a special bond unlike anything in this world. Unfortunately, college dorms aren’t too keen on having dogs and cats roam the halls, unless you go to one of these schools (https://www.collegeraptor.com/blog/on-campus/20-pet-friendly-college-campuses/).
The number one thing I miss most about home is my pets (sorry mom). So how does one deal with this hard goodbye?
- Keep LOTS of pictures of your pets around your room.
- Consider getting a fish! I know it’s not quite the same, but it helps.
- Have your family send you pictures and videos of your pets regularly. Watching my cat play with hair ties or my dogs hop through the snow on my phone is the next best thing to being there.
- Volunteer at the local animal shelter while at school. You'll be doing a good deed and getting your daily dose of dogs.
- If you’re willing to spend big bucks, there’s always http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/custom-pet-pillows. This gives you the option to get a custom, life size pillow of your pet (who wouldn't love that).
