Dead And Company Announces Summer Tour Dates
relix.com

Much to the excitement of Grateful Dead fans everywhere, the wildly successful Dead and Company has announced the extension of their tour into the summer. What originally began as a single show scheduled at New York's Madison Square Garden, quickly turned into three nights at Madison Square Garden and then a full blown tour, which took the band to all corners of the country.

Dead and Company was the result of the Grateful Dead's "Fare Thee Well," a three night stand at Chicago's Soldier Field commemorating 50 years of The Dead and offering the fans a supposed final chance to see the four original members perform together.

However, it quickly became clear that the fans wanted more and Dead and Company was born. The band features the talents of Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzman, Bob Weir, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and most interestingly John Mayer, who has provided the jam band with incredible guitar solos and amazing lead vocals.

Below is a clip of the band playing, "He's Gone," filmed live for the American Express UNSTAGED concert. Entire concerts are available online as well.

There is simply no experience comparable to hearing the music of the Grateful Dead live and no band has a greater fan following. Dead and Company has been making stops in major cities all around the country, providing "dead heads" everywhere a once in a lifetime experience to hear the music they live by and live for. The band has also cultivated a new generation of Dead followers, allowing younger fans to see their music live for the first time. As someone who was lucky enough to see Dead and Company live, I promise, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity no one should miss out on; there is simply nothing like it in the world.

Dead and Company will begin their summer headlining two sets at the Bonnaroo Music festival and then embark on a tour, which takes them all over the country and finishes up with two nights at Boston's Fenway Park, July 15th and 16th. Tour dates are listed below:

June 16 - Cincinnati, OH ~ Riverbend Music Center

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
