College can be stressful, especially as an upperclassmen when there are not even close to enough hours in the day for all required daily activities. Between going to class, finishing homework, studying, working out, eating, and sleeping, it is truly difficult to find time for anything else (and those are only the essentials to survive college). But, as the internet says, "You have as many hours in your day as Beyonce", however, even Queen Yoncé can relate to our lack of sufficient college time: check out these gifs!
1. Wake up time
As soon as your alarm goes off, you realize that you have so much to accomplish and you feel like you have the perfect, jam-packed schedule to get everything done.
2. Actual wake up time
After your alarm goes off for the second time and you realize you already you hit snooze on a few times... Putting on makeup no longer fits in the day's activities.
3. Rushing to class
That being said there is no time to eat or make breakfast, so a quick coffee and a snack on the way to class will have to do.
4. Time for class now
Two-hour lectures back to back. God this is torture. Also, seems like a waste of time because you're so tired you have zero idea what the professor is lecturing on. You have so many other things to use your valuable time on.
5. Afternoon in the library
Coffee is beginning to wear off and hunger is back yet again! All you want to do is nap but you have homework for two classes due tomorrow and a long paper due at the end of the week. Please make it stop.
6. Time to eat
After nearly passing out in the library, it is finally time for a huge meal again. Cooking takes a lot of time and energy that you probably don't have, so getting quick food on campus is the best bet for tonight. Which dining hall has the least disgusting meal?
7. Club meetings
Like high school, extracurricular activities are super important in college. So each week is a debate of which meeting you can actually attend based on the school work you have due. Club meetings are never that fun and are sure to take an hour of your time, at least.
8. Work out time / Time to study / Practice time
Depending on the amount of work you actually have, now is the time for any of the following activities: to go to the gym, sports practice, or studying for exams the next morning. This is probably the toughest decision all day because this time can also easily turn into being on Facebook for over an hour...
9. Time to reconnect with your friends and family
After avoiding them for the last 12 hours, it is always a good idea to let your loved ones that you are in fact, still alive and just quite overwhelmed by work and life in general. Sorry Nana, no FaceTime now though, more studying must be done.
10. Back to studying
Late night is time to break out the books again and do your final review of notes or last few math problems for the night. Your mental capacity is slowly escaping you, so it may be a little sloppy. This studying doesn't last long but it helps accomplish last minute tasks.
11. Basically over today
Although everything is not completely finished and your planner has a few tasks still not crossed off, you need to check out for the night. It was a long day with lots of school work. Though stressful, at night you feel like a boss for making it through today. Congrats self, job well done! Psh, it wasn't even that bad...
12. Celebratory pre-sleep ritual
After finishing your rough day, a Netflix session is your reward for a hard day's work. Though you are very tired and you may barely make it past 10 minutes, just watching TV is a great way to unwind.
13. Friend Interaction During the Day
Yes, texts, Snapchats, and tweeting may occur throughout the day mostly complaining, but no, I will not hang out or meet up with you. When you have a day full of work ahead of you, friends will suck you into fun like a black hole and nothing you were supposed to accomplish will happen. They will understand, but on days like this, just say no to friends.
Everyone has the same amount of hours on the same day as Beyoncé. These hours are not spent in the same way, but it is always a great reminder. Try to set goals for your day and accomplish as many as possible! If you feel overwhelmed, take things slow and always remember to have fun. Life is about balancing work and play!
