A Day In The Life Of An Intern As Told By Titus Andromedon
The Daily Beast

Titus Andromedon from the Netflix original series "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," is the epitome of fun and sass. An aspiring Broadway actor and "Peeno Noir" extraordinaire, Titus walks to the beat of his own drum. From various day jobs such as working as a singing werwolf waiter at a fictional themed restaurant called "Dr. Dracula's Spooky Lab & Bar & Grill," to writing and performing his own one man musical, "Kimono You Didn't: Murasaki's Journey," Titus is on a mission to pursue his dream of becoming a Broadway star. Whether we are taking part in a specific internship to gain experience in the general work world or we are specifically trying it out in a field we dream about being in, who better than Titus Andromedon to explain our day-to-day struggles and triumphs as interns?

1. Pumped up for another day at work.

You slowly make your way to the office to begin another day as an intern. You go about your day as usual. You find yourself looking at the clock on the wall in the office various times during the day. The clicks from the movements of the clock's hands seem to occur less and less frequently... Could this day go any slower? *TICK... TOCK...TICK...TOCK*

2. It's 4:30pm.

You give yourself a pat on the back (not literally), you are almost done for the day. But wait...Not so fast....You realize you have yet to complete one small task. But it's ok because you remember that you will be leaving soon. You quickly begin the last assignment and concentrate.

3. 5:00 p.m....Time to leave!

You've finally reached the end of the day! Time to leave!

4. You remember you have plans to go out to dinner with friends so you make your way to the bank for some cash.

You go to catch some form of transportation to the nearest bank.

5. While waiting in line at the bank, you find yourself daydreaming about all the money you have made from interning this past week.

You picture yourself lying in bed, playing in all the cash you have made. All your sweat and tears have paid off! (you hope so)

6. *Dun Dun Dun....* The moment of truth...

You type in your pin, press the "Account Balance" button and... *drum roll*....You look at the screen and *deep sigh*, you remember that you're an unpaid intern.

Well... while your other friends may be making more money through babysitting their next-door neighbors, in the end it's the experience you take from an internship that matters. Who cares if so-and-so is actually making money from their day job or internship.... YOU are at least giving yourself the opportunity to test the waters and see what type of career you may want in the future.

#RESPECTMYJOURNEY

Titus Andromedon gets our struggles. Keep working hard no matter what and enjoy yourself. Try out different fields and environments. Even if it means filing papers and answering the phone for the next two months. You will slowly find yourself getting closer and closer to your dream career. One day we will look back on these experiences and smile.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
