Back when the 90's babies were in middle school things were so different.

The clothes that we wore back then and the trends that were in are totally different than today. We rocked Silly Bands, traded Pokemon cards, wore Aeropostale and Hollister and dyed our hair strange colors like light pink and purple. Middle schoolers in this time experience middle school differently because of the technology that has come out and the access to the internet. Many of them have I Phones, tablets, and makeup. A lot of them are taller than us 90's babies too.

Now it consists of wake up and check your social media. Start getting ready for school, put on the latest outfit from Forever 21, put on makeup which includes contouring and catch the bus. Or if you are lucky you will ride to school and arrive with your Starbucks drink that you will have to toss once class starts. Once you arrive at the school meet up with your closest girlfriends at your designated spot and take lots of selfies on snap chat, and Instagram. Catch up on the latest gossip.

It is so different from the 90's babies. We were lucky if we had a Razor. That was the best thing back then. We also didn't pay too much attention to the clothes that we wore. Recess was still a thing at my middle school well at least in 6th grade and all the kids would enjoy it very much. We would play tag, hide and go seek and basketball.

The middle schoolers today do not know how to use their imagination. At any free moment between classes, you will see tons of middle school aged girls and boys on their phones and not focused on what is around them. You would be surprised to learn that middle school crushes still exist - well duh. They are very different than what they used to be back in the early 2000's though.

Do you remember passing notes to your crush asking if they liked you? I'm sure you remember only having a certain amount of minutes on your phone and having to communicate through other people. Middle schoolers don't have to pass notes or go through 3rd parties anymore to communicate. They just text each other.

Can you believe that middle schoolers don't have I pods and mp3 players anymore, no more Razor flip phones, Game Boys, Silly Bands, Aeropostal or Hollister? Those were really some of the best days. Well, at least they were for me. Middle schoolers now are so fortunate to have the advanced technology. I hope every middle schooler learns to appreciate the time they are in now. Life flies by so fast. Please enjoy being a kid while you can.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
