Would you look at that! It’s the day before one of the most important assignments of the semester is due. It’s not like you’ve known about it since syllabus week, right? You see, it’s not that us procrastinators have poor time management skills, are lazy, or flat out do not care. We just simply struggle to find motivation to do anything before it absolutely must be done.
Welcome everybody, to a day in the life of a procrastinator.
8:00 a.m.
You’re actually up before noon on a Sunday and pinch yourself to make sure you’re not still sleeping. After realizing how much time left in the day you have, you decide to stay in bed and catch up with the world on your phone as you...slowly..drift..back...to sleep.
11:00 a.m.
Well, you fell back to sleep, but for once in your life are thankful for your upstairs neighbors waking you up. The good news is that it's still only 11...which is only an hour earlier than you would have gotten up if you had no work to do. It's going to be a long day.
12:00 p.m.
Time to get to work! You sit at your desk and immediately begin thinking of 30 other, more important (as you tell yourself) things that you could be doing instead of this. Like painting your nails!
1:30 p.m.
Yes, the process of painting your nails does indeed take this long. Unless you rush it, wind up smudging your nails on your comforter, and have to start over and over and over again. You gotta do it right the first time people. While you wait for those bad boys to dry, why not catch up on some episodes of Grey's!
5:00 p.m.
4 and a half hours of sitting as your desk "working" and all you have to show for it is a puddle of tears, a carton of Ben & Jerry's, and a still empty word document....awesome.
6:30 p.m.
Wow. You have been doing homework for an hour and a half straight...your brain has been working hard so why not reward it with some pizza? You go to the kitchen, preheat the oven, pop that sucker in there, and wait to go to town. You're too hungry to focus on doing your work now, so you take a short nap.
7:00 p.m.
Pizza time! Before you know it, you have devoured half of your body weight in cheese and sausage crumble topping, and are definitely beginning to feel the repercussions. You ignore the feeling of death, and try your hardest to focus on your assignment. Then again, it is only a five page paper, it shouldn't take too long.
10:00 p.m.
You're about two pages deep when you decide to call it quits. Tomorrow is a new day where adventure awaits! You should have no problem waking up a little early in order to finish this tomorrow...
On second thought, you love sleep WAY too much to ever want to leave your happy place to do work.
12:00 a.m.
And once again...
