A Day at Max Patch Mountain

Last Saturday, my friends and I decided to go on a little getaway from the city. It was my first trip to Max Patch Mountain, just over the North Carolina state line, and it's safe to say I fell in love. Only about a two hour drive from UTK's campus and not even a mile of walking, it's perfect for a quick weekend hike. The scenic gravel road up into the mountains may make one apprehensive, but once you walk up to the summit it's worth the brief confusion. It offers 360 views of the Smoky Mountains, which makes one of the most beautiful photo backdrops ever. Add in overcast lighting, and it makes even my out-of-practice photos look professional. It was a perfect opportunity to experiment again with the manual functions on my Nikon D3300. I can't wait to go back and hopefully watch the sun rise over this sweet little island in the sky.

I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment.
