Dawn Of Finals Week

Semester Is Almost Over

Dawn Of Finals Week
Funnyjunk

So you've procrastinated all semester and all Thanksgiving break (I know I have) and now it is time for finals as the semester and year are quickly making a close. Not only do we have to make sure that we get the last of our school work done, but keep in mind that as the semester closes and we all return home for a good month or so, we have to get ourselves together for the end of the year and the new one (also the new semester).

Right now let's focus on the end of the semester that is coming up. Dreaded Finals Week, leading into glorious winter break, where we all go home for a good month and a half to be with family and friends and forget about the hell of classes for a while. Winter break is always so fun because you don't have to worry as much or be stressed out as much anymore. The final day of the semester filled with stress, confusion, anger and maybe depression, but it is all over in one instant of bliss the moment that last assignment is turned in and you walk out the classroom and get ready to go home.

It's fun how that works out, isn't it? You spend the whole semester stressing out on assignments, and then one week comes up that happens to be the last week of the semester and the anxiety and stress hit maximum overdrive. Then, as soon as everything is done and turned in, bliss sets in and then everything that happened over the course of about five months is just gone. POOF.

That's what I think we all need to strive for in this last week, that moment of bliss. Just keep that in mind that as soon as it is all over, there is no need to stress anymore. You can go home and relax and getting ready for the holidays and celebrate whatever it is you and your family celebrate. I know that's what will help get some of you through the week, especially those who have to take the full week instead of being the lucky ones who finish early, depending on the schedule.

The break is right around the corner and as we all know, time goes by fast and before you know it, you will be back home in your own bed, finally able to sleep in and relax and do nothing but decorating and celebrating in the holiday season. Good luck with the week, hope it all goes well. Merry Christmas, and happy holidays.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
