It's that time of the year again! Halloween is over, the weather's getting chilly, the leaves are almost fully transformed, and people are hunting for a bae. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, people are searching for someone to take home to the family for Thanksgiving break, but also someone who will last to Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, then maybe forever. Cuffing season is here. If you find a bae and need a something to do, here are eleven date spot ideas for UNCC students.
1. Ice skating
Although ice skating can be tricky at first, it can also be an ideal and fun first date. It also gives you an excuse to hold hands with that special someone. The Ice Park, located at Concord Mills Mall, opens on November 19.
2. Netflix and chill
If you're on a budget, watching a movie and hanging out is always a good option. Although some think the whole "netflix and chill" thing is overrated, it can be a casual, relaxed way of getting to know someone.
3. A sports game
Go with your boyfriend or girlfriend to a Panthers or Hornets game!
4. A concert
Find a concert you and your significant other would like to go to. Chance the Rapper, Mac Miller, Awolnation, and many others are coming to perform in Charlotte over the next few months.
5. Visit a museum
Spend a day with bae being cultured! Charlotte has the Mint Museum, the Discovery Place, and the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. The Randolph Mint Museum and the Mint Museum Uptown offer free admission on the first weekend of every month to Bank of America card holders!
6. Go on a hike
There are many trails in and around Charlotte, but if you're willing to drive a bit, Crowders Mountain provides a taste of being in the mountains without going too far. West of Charlotte, you can view the city from the mountain.
7. McAdenville
You know you really live in Charlotte when you've been to McAdenville at least once! McAdenville, also nicknamed "Christmas Town, USA," is a town north of Charlotte that decorates the whole town with Christmas lights. It's not Christmas time yet, but once the holiday season is fully in motion, taking your significant other here would provide a great seasonal date.
8. Go out for dessert
Who doesn't love a nice pastry? Take a trip to any of Charlotte's dessert places. Amelie's is always a good idea.
9. Go out for hookah
If you're feeling it, grab a couple friends and your bae, then go to one of Charlotte's hookah spots. There's a couple around University Area, but Crave, located in uptown, is a quality hookah and dessert bar.
10. Try a paint class
If you're of age, try a wine and paint class! If not, you can still attend one, you just can't drink there. Overall, paint classes are a fun way to release your artistic abilities and get a new piece of artwork.
11. Have a picnic
Prepare a meal or order some food, grab a picnic blanket, and choose a scenic spot on campus. If you don't want to stay on campus, you can always try another one of Charlotte's parks. Freedom Park, the Green, and the Romare Bearden Park are all located in or around uptown.
