If you're tired of the usual dinner date night, or you're stuck trying to figure out new date ideas to try, then you have come to the right place! It's hard to figure out new, fun and exciting things to do in a city you're completely unfamiliar with. Whether you're going out with your new beau or need a night out with some friends, I've got the master list for you.
For Those Who Like To Drink
Cincinnati is a city that loves its beer, with the occasional splash of good wine. If you're looking to try out some of the breweries here in town, hop on a Cincinnati Brewery tour or catch the bus for Craft Connection Brewery Tours and the Cincinnati Brew Bus. You could always check out 50 West Brewing Co., or if you're looking for wine, head to Meier's Wine Cellars. For those of you who prefer liquor, The Bourbon Trail and bar hopping in OTR is always a blast. 16 Bit + Bar Arcade offers free use of old arcade games with drink purchases!
For The Active and Adventurous Couple
A cute little picnic by Mirror Lake in Eden Park is always a win with the ladies and great for people watching, but a trip to the City Flea or the Local Farmers Market may be more exciting. Cincinnati also offers many cooking classes at various locations, such as Out of Thyme Kitchen Studio, Gorman Farm, Jungle Jim's and The Learning Kitchen could always be fun and useful for college kids who are still learning to cook. Other activities include laser tag, go karts, mini golf, escape rooms and bowling at places like Lazer Kraze, Fun at The Web, Scallywag Tag and trampolines at Sky Zone. For those of you who enjoy the great outdoors, check out the book "60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Cincinnati" for a great list of trails, or head to the Little Miami River for a relaxing kayaking trip down the river. Of course, there's always the option of a day trip to Kings Island for a little thrill, or catching the view at the Carew Tour downtown. You could even take a little road trip down Route 8, east for Augusta, west for McGlasson's farm.
For Those Who Have An Appreciation For Entertainment And The Arts
Cincinnati is home to a myriad of museums. The Cincinnati Art Museum offers free admission with $4 parking, the Museum Center is offering free admission on June 3, the Contemporary Arts Center is free Monday nights 5-9 p.m. and the Taft Museum of Art is free on Sundays. Other options are the Krohn Conservatory, the Cincinnati Observatory and the American Sign Museum. For those of you who appreciate all sorts of free music, the Greater Cincinnati Area offers many different options, including Fountain Square Tuesday-Thursday, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in Devou Park, Newport on Thursday nights, Serpentine Wall on Wednesdays, Shakespeare in the Park in August and various nights in Washington Park. You could always catch a game at the Cincinnati Reds or The Cyclones, watch the Cincinnati Ballet or even paint a picture together at A Stroke Of Art.
The thing I love most about this city is all of the things it has to offer. You will never have an excuse to be bored here; there's always more to see and do. For those of you who are lucky enough to live in the Greater Cincinnati Area, I challenge you to make a bucket list of activities from this list and even add some of your own to complete before the end of summer! For those of you just passing through, take advantage of your time here and explore Cincinnati and all that it has to offer. Good luck on your adventure!
