Remember "Daria"? If the words "LaLaLaLaLa" don't resonate deeply in your soul and teen angst past, I encourage you to binge-watch "Daria." When I was going down memory lane (aka my Hulu account), it reminded me of why I loved this show so much, especially because "Daria" literally describes my college life so perfectly. Here are seven relatable times when Daria showed us she is every college girl and reminded us we're not alone in the struggle.
1. Never getting enough sleep.
A full eight hours of sleep? More like an eight-page paper due in 24 hours. Quinn, we connect with you on a spiritual level right now.
2. Group chats are the only way.
There's no such thing as calling one person now. Everything must be divulged by the squad at once. The Fashion Club used four-way calling much like we use group message now. How else would we get everyone on the same page in our friend group?
3. Pizza goals.
Pizza is the glue to college and it is literally in every "Daria" episode. It's there for you after a hard day of classes and it's always present at your social events. Shoutout to pizza, for being the true MVP.
4. Online blogging.
Quinn was basically on Tumblr and messing with her page before it was cool. We all have that Tumblr/Pinterest Board/Blogspot we personalize and get addicted to, right?
5. Apathy for sports.
Candid picture of me at a sporting event. Whenever I am dragged to some sort of event where a ball is being transported from one side or another, I'm basically done. RIP my time.
6. Procrastination
I don't know the last time I was on time to something. Probably Freshman orientation. In college, we basically float until we wake up where we're actually supposed to be.
7. Meeting true friends.
Nothing is better than finding a bestie to support you. Jane and Daria are literal BFF goals. College is a great time to find like-minded people who can ultimately be your maid of honor one day.
