I love to shop. I love to shop a lot, to the point where I often find myself encountering shoppers remorse and guilt for the amount of money that I spend. However, there are some products that I feel absolutely no shame in supporting. Here is a list of my favorite companies that give portions of their profit, as well as support and advocacy, to great causes and nonprofits. If you love to shop and love to do good, this list is for you!

1. Love Your Melon-

Most known for their adorable beanies offered in almost any color imaginable, this company offers a wonderful selection of clothing. It also puts 50% of its profits toward cancer research. Love Your Melon has a unique program called the "Campus Crew" that works to advocate and raise awareness for childhood cancer and represent Love Your Melon on college campuses.

2. Lokai-

Lokai bracelets are made to represent the highs and lows of life as well as all that occurs in between. Each bracelet is made with a white bead containing water from Mt. Everest, the highest point on earth, and a black bead containing mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point. On top of this, Lokai offers the bracelet in a variety of different colors each representing a cause. These include the pink bracelet which supports Susan G-Komen breast cancer research, orange bracelet supporting the National Association for Mental Illness, rainbow bracelet which supports the Make a Wish Foundation, purple bracelet supporting the Alzheimer's Association, and many others. Part of the proceeds from each bracelet bought go to the partnered charity.

3. Ivory Ella-

Ivory Ella offers a variety of adorable products, including clothing, phone products, water bottles, etc, all featuring an elephant. 10% of the companies' profits are donated to the "Save the Elephant Foundation."

4. Mission Cute-

Subscription boxes are the "next big things". This one, however, is truly unique. Mission cute subscribers receive a mystery box each month with a variety of products that have one thing in common, they are always cute. Boxes are relative to the season and include things such as candles, jewelry, edible treats, cards, and lots of other fun things! The best part is that each month, subscribers are asked to nominate a nonprofit. The nonprofit chosen for that given month receives part of the profit from the boxes and Mission Cute using their products to advocate and raise awareness for their cause!

5. Elephant Pants-

Similar to Ivory Ella, Elephant Pants sell products featuring adorable elephant prints and donate part of their proceeds to The International Elephant Foundation, which aims to protect elephants and preserve their habitats.

6. Bombas Socks-

This company saw a community need and matched it with a business. For every pair of Bombas Socks that are purchased, the company donates one to a homeless shelter in The United States. These socks also have a high-quality design that makes them comfortable as well as charitable!

7. Makai Clothing Company-

10% of the profits from this clothing company are donated to the protection of sea turtles and their habitats. A variety of fashionable clothing and accessories are offered!

8. Toms-

Toms offers a wide variety of fashionable shoes in many colors, patterns, and styles. What's even better than this is the wide variety of charity and nonprofit support that Toms provides. Toms has partnerships with over 100 organizations providing services from shoe donation, water system support, and aiding in safe births in countries without access to proper medical care. Toms donates both proceeds and products helping over 70 countries around the world.

9. Happy Earth-

This company donates 50% of its proceeds to environmental conversation. When you purchase the clothing from this business, you are not only buying quality, fashionable clothing for the variety of collections that the company offers, but you are promoting a truly happy earth.

10. Sergenetee-

The goal of this company is quite unique and quite amazing. Sergentee aims to supports independent artisans and cultural tradition by purchasing its fabric from over 25 different countries. On top of this, it donates 10% of its profits back to these communities and other grassroots causes. Sergentee offers a wide array of products including clothing, hats, backpacks, and handbags all representing a piece of the world.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
