Cumulative Call Out Post

What the hell are you doing?

Hi. Today, I wanted to start something new called the cumulative call out post. The cumulative call out post is a new thing where you call out everything/one that's been bugging you recently. I love this idea because I have recently felt so angry about many things, but I haven't found the right medium to express this anger, so I'm going to do it here, so everyone can know and understand the things that have made me so grumpy over the past couple of weeks.

1. Residential Life at OWU

Reslife, we need to talk.

You guys are awful. Seriously, you are so bad. You've taken three whole dorms and made them entirely Freshmen only, leaving another three dorms for only upperclassmen. That's a little fucking disproportionate, don't you think? It's such a shitty way for you guys to basically say "fuck you" to the FEW students who have stayed at OWU. Our retention rate is so low in part thanks to you. Who told you that you had good ideas? Because you really don't.

2. The admissions department at OWU

Okay, we need to have a long discussion.

You want to have 2020 students by 2020? Do you understand how unattainable that is with our awful retention rate? You'll lose half of that class, AT LEAST, by the time the next year rolls around. If you want to get 2000 students, work on promoting the actual good parts of our school, instead of promoting obscure and unused facilities and our awful football team. Speaking of sports, can we talk about your focus on the "student athlete" for just a moment? Why are you so interested in having student athletes? Why are you giving them priority over students who work just as hard as student athletes do, but don't play sports? It's ridiculous to focus only on student athletes when there are plenty of other great and hardworking kids out there who are just as deserving as athletes are. Calm your shit, please.

3. OWU Administration

MOVE. SANBORN. TO. ACADEMIC. SIDE. Just do it. Please. Sanborn deserves it. The students who have done the Sanborn Sprint deserve it. I deserve it, as a student who takes music classes. Please move Sanborn to academic side. We need it as people. We need it as a community. We need it as a campus.

4. People who think their oppression is somehow more important than anyone else's

Stop. Just stop. You experience a different kind of oppression than I do, and that's okay, but both of our oppressions are valid and equally important. Stop being a jack-off about oppression, because it's all bad and it's all just as important as anyone else's.

5. Donald Trump

YOU ARE SO UNQUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT, THAT IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? DO YOU REALLY HATE EVERYONE WHO'S NOT A STRAIGHT, WHITE, CISGENDERED, ABLE-BODIED AND MINDED MALE THAT MUCH? YOU ARE THE DEFINITION OF AWFUL AND I HATE YOU.

In conclusion, I hate the world and this shit is ridiculous.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
