Crystals Are More Than Just Decor, They Are A Way Of Life

The earliest recording of us using crystals was during the Sumerian times which was the civilization in the fertile crescent (middle east). They used it for healing and magic rituals since then we rediscovered the effect of crystals in Chinese medicine. We've been using crystals as an alternative to precious stone since we've found out about them. Crystals used in healing is coming back as a trend since the '70s. I find them to have a healing effect on myself whether I believe that it's truly healing my body or through my happiness that my body is feeling good is not the point.

If looking at a handful of crystals make you happy and if you believe that they have healing powers, more power to you. I believe that we all need crystals in our lives. Crystal healing is considered a pseudo-science and I can see why because you can't scientifically track the healing process of crystals. It truly is how you feel after holding a crystal. If you think about it, you can transfer some of your tension into playing with a stone like a fidget cube. Meditation with a comfortable weight in your hand can help with healing. I find that through my experience with crystals that I just find joy in holding them. I don't really feel anything happening and that's okay!

Each crystal has a meaning and a function. I have a tiny bag full of crystals from Amethyst to Tiger Eye and they all serve different functions. Amethyst represents for intuition and calming, but it assists in calming the mind, reduces insomnia and allows restful sleep, reduces stress, eases headaches, helps with hormone production, strengthens the immune system, cleansing organs, and respiratory system, reduces bruising and swelling. Its a lot to put on a stone, but some people truly believe when you align your chakras that it helps with different things. This website would be able to tell you the different meaning behind crystals and their functions if you would like to try to play with crystals.

I feel like everyone should have a crystal in their live's because they can cause happiness just by looking at them. I love looking at all of mine because of the color scheme and how they feel in my hand. I've always loved shiny things and it doesn't have to be precious stones. I've always been drawn to crystals over precious stones. Some say when you look at something you consider pretty that you tend to be happier so why not carry about something pretty with you. As stupid as it sounds to some, it truly helps to have something beautiful to inspire you.

I know this may seem like a bunch of crap to some people, but I don't care. I love my crystals and think that everyone should have at least one. When you place a crystal on a windowsill, some of them will glitter and some will shine. It truly depends on the different stones. If you don't like having them in your pocket, they look great as a necklace or on a piece of clothing. They bring happiness wherever they go and it's truly refreshing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
