Hello my human!

It's me, your pet!

I know you miss me human, but
don't worry about me. I know you are sad because I went away from my home. But please don't be mad at me! I miss you a lot and I want to give you so many kisses. Once I left you, I ran across a bridge to my new home. I love it here! There are all of these different colors, meadows for me to run around, places to climb, and lots of other animals who are just like me! I am never tired, and I have so much food and water. I even have my favorite treats that you always put on the top shelf. Guess what, Human? I can reach them now and I have endless supplies!

I'm sorry I was too tired and weak to play with you before I left. I wanted to run after that ball, and I wanted to watch the birds in the window. I really wanted to lay on my back and watched as you scratched my belly. Human, you always knew just the right spot to rub! I really loved hiding your socks and your toys the best. I miss doing that here.

Towards the end, I didn't like to snuggle much either because I didn't want you to realize I had been skipping my meals. I just was not hungry—not even bacon sounded good. I used to have a hard time fitting in my bed, and now I was so tiny that I could do so with such ease. I kept sleeping because I hoped I would feel better once I woke up. I would have given anything to play together. Human, I especially loved when you would tug on my rope. You were always so good at that game.

I'm not sick anymore here. I like to run and jump and play with other pets who are like me. But the best part of my new home is that it has all of my favorite memories from my old home! I have my favorite toys here, my bed, and even pictures of you!
You gave me a good life at home. I never went hungry and I never wanted to run away (well, I know that I almost did one time, but that was because I smelled bacon! You know how much I love bacon).

Human, they tell me here that one day, I will get to see you again! When I see you I will lick your face and give you so many kisses! We can play together, and you can scratch my tummy with two hands! I always had so much fun with you. We can play together everyday when you come visit me. They have a nice tree up here where we can sit. It looks like our tree at home. I think you would like to sit there with me!

Until then, it is okay if you get another pet like me. I know you must be lonely, but don't worry about me getting mad. I had such a happy life with you and I want you to make some more pets very happy! They can even have all of my favorite toys. I have some toys up here with me, so they can keep my old ones!

Thank you for being such a good owner to me. I love you lots!

I will see you soon, human!

P.S. I hid your favorite socks under your bed.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
