What are creepy pasta?

I'm sure everyone has heard or seen the word creepy pasta at least once on their newsfeed before. It's a popular term describing a story which is essentially an online urban legend or conspiracy theory. A story that went viral that describes why certain things happen or is a story behind a TV show or a movie or any theory basically explaining how things came about. Theories like these are usually well thought out and it would include references with the original show, movie or content to make the story more believable, that it is so well put that you can't help but believe it even though it might not even be true.

One of the most popular creepypasta or online urban legend is about the nickelodeon cartoon show from way back when called "Rugrats" the theory behind that show is that Angelica Pickles is the child who's making up everything in her head and by everything I mean the Rugrats babies. Tommy was a result of a still-born that his parents supposedly had and Angelica essentially made him up, which is "why" Tommy is the only one in diapers and that his father Stu was always making toys because he was in denial that he had lost his child. Phil and Lil were the results of their mother having a miscarriage, because Angelica didn't know the gender of the child she made up Phil and Lil to cover both sexes. Apparently, Chuckie died with his mother, which explains why his father Chaz is always a nervous wreck because he couldn't deal with the loss of his only son and first wife. This theory was going all way up until the "All grown up series" whereas Angelica became a teenager but grew being hooked on narcotics which furthered her "imagination" of all of her friends because she was incapable actually making friends. More to the original Rugrats creepypasta story can be found here.

Another popular story or urban legend is the Lavender Town Syndrome. This is in reference to a song/music in the old school Pokemon games. By old school, I actually mean red, blue, yellow. This is concerning a ghost-like town that is in the game. The creators of the town wanted to make the music creepier to give the eerie chilling effect. At the time they didn't know that the lower frequencies would bother the younger audience mainly children. Since their ears are fully developed they don't experience first hand how the music affected the children until after they released the game. There have been reports of children doing extreme behaviors such as self-harm, and even suicide attempts. When this became an epidemic they recalled all the games and altered the music so things like that won't happen again. If you are adventurous enough you can find links to some of the original music files with the lowered frequencies, but be aware it can cause headaches if your ears aren't fully developed or sensitive to certain frequencies.

Happy halloween, and be aware these creepypasta are at your own risk kind of thing.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
