How's everyone enjoying their summer? You get to take trips to Ocean City, Myrtle Beach, and Six Flags, but there is just one problem: the heat! When all of your trips to the pool don't seem to help and when the Slurpee from 7-11 is gone it's like the world is coming to an end right?

Is your AC broken? Do you feel dirty no matter how many showers you take? Well I'm here to cushion the blow. Check out these 11 tips to stay cool when your summer seems to become less than enjoyable!

1. Freeze Your Fruit

Frozen fruit can be great to snack on when you run out of Ice Pops. It's a healthier alternative to ice cream as well. Try blending the fruit with a little water for a tasty sorbet! Frozen bananas, grapes, pineapples and mangoes are my favorite.

You can also take your fruit sorbet and mold it into a fruit Popsicle. You can make them anytime you want. Plus, it's all natural.

2. The Ice Ball

Fill up a water balloon with fresh water, and stick it in the freezer. After its cold you can choose to use the balloon to cool your body off or to take the ice out of the balloon. You would have to cut the balloon around the ice in order to get it out, but when you finally get it done you'll be left with a big ball of ice. You're a creative person!

3. The Sponge

Absorb a sponge in cold water. Place the sponge in a Ziploc bag and place it in the freezer. In a couple hours you'll have a cold compress that will stay cold for at least an hour.

4. Take a Hot Shower

I know it sounds crazy, but if you take a hot shower, your body temperature will adjust to it. When you hop out of the shower the temperature you thought was hot before wont seem so bad.

5. Take a Cold Shower

You will feel so relieved when you feel the cool water hitting your skin. Don't make it so cold to the point where you can't breath, but cool enough where it's safe to say that the water is no longer warm.

6. The Ice Bucket Challenge

Why not do charity and stay cool at the same time!? The ice bucket is fun to do because, you know people enjoy watching videos of it on YouTube. You may be torturing yourself a little bit by dumping ice all over your skin but just remember, it's for a good cause! Plus, it's hot outside anyway right? Right!

7. Origami

See how many variations of a paper fan you can make. It's fun, time consuming and once you create the perfect fan, you will be as cool as a ladybug.

8. Go To The Gym

"Why the H-E- double hockey sticks would I wanna go to gym where people produce sweat and body heat!?" There is a simple answer to your question my friend: the Gym has AC. You could be sweating bullets while getting your cardio on rather than sweating bullets just by sitting down in your un-air-conditioned house.

9. Drink Some Water

Sometimes all you need is an ice cold drink to keep you from melting away. However, resist the temptation to pour the water on you. That is what tip number six is for.

10. Take A Road Trip

Sometimes you just need to put the windows down and drive fast. Let the breeze hit your face, and turn up the tunes. If you have good working AC in your car, then use it to your advantage. Get a group of your friends and just hangout in your car.

11. Go on a Picnic

Find some ice cold lemonade, some fruit and a nice shady area to sit under. It would help to bring some playing cards along with you.

So there you have it! These tips are not going to shield you from the sun's heat completely, but they should make it a little more bearable. Have fun trying these tips out and enjoy the rest of your summer. Stay cool!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
