Why You Should Create Your Own Sex Playlist, Rather Than Using Someone Else's

Some people call it self-care, I call it self-preservation.

Why You Should Create Your Own Sex Playlist, Rather Than Using Someone Else's

I know there's a ton of sexy playlists out there, but nothing is worse than hearing a song that absolutely kills everything from the vibe to somebody's hard on (if that's your thing).

Take it from me, nobody wants to be fucking to "Rockstar" by Post Malone at 3:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon... it's just not worth it.

The same goes for "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver" by Primus and the lovely movie "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (yes, I know, I need to find better things to fuck to).

When making a sex playlist, you can put as little or as much effort as you want into it, which is honestly the beauty of it. Add whatever you'd like but keeping your audience in mind will definitely help prevent issues before they arise. Hell, it would even be a good idea to make multiple playlists for various situations (i.e., masturbation, one-night stands, gangbangs, and whatever (or whomever) else you're doing.

However, I should note that it would be unwise to add your all-time favorite tracks to a sex playlist (even one made specifically for alone time). Almost nothing is worse than having a good song tainted by the memory of a terrible experience (or person), so keep that in mind as you are cultivating your musical masterpiece. Losing a good Linkin Park or Lana Del Rey song just isn't worth the sex, no matter how good it might have been.

Also, keep in mind that this doesn't have to be a lonely experience.

Get your partner(s) in on the action and ask them to submit some sexy songs, it might just make your future sexual endeavors that much better. This is a good way to make sure that all parties are comfortable with the music, and if you're really lucky you might get to use the playlist right after it's been created. It certainly doesn't hurt to test things like that out.

I've compiled a list of some songs that I'd put on my sex playlist, so hopefully, they help give you an idea of what to add to your own. Here are 15 of them.

1. "Cola"- Lana Del Rey

2. "Legendary"- Welshly Arms

3. "Holy Hell"- Stereo Jane

4. "Move Like You Stole It"- ZZ Ward

5. "Dirty Love"- Gin Wigmore

6. "Look Back At It"- A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

7. "Gatekeeper"- Jessie Reyez

8. "Bad Intentions" - Niykee Heaton

9. "Bad Things" - Camila Cabello

10. "Me & Mr. Jones" - Amy Winehouse

11. "Let You Go" - Machine Gun Kelly

12. "Cherry Flavored" - The Neighbourhood

13. "Body"- Morgan Reilly

14. "Breakthrough" - Strobe Light Casualties

15. "Desire"- Meg Myers

There are so many other amazing songs that you could use, but those are some of my favorites. Good luck picking out your own, and happy curating!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
