Having fun is my favorite thing to do. As much as I enjoy chilling on my couch having a movie night, I love being adventurous and trying new things. For some of the stuff I do, some may say I'm crazy. But the crazier, the better the story, right?
1. The Polar Plunge, Long Beach, N.Y.
Jumping into the ocean in the middle of February is quite a rush, despite that it was below 30 degrees outside when I did it. (It's also for a great cause.)
2. Tree Top Adventure, Callaway Gardens, Ga.
Zip lining, they said. It'll be fun, they said. After two hours and 20 obstacles, 350 feet in the air, my boyfriend and I completed the course.
3. Petting a penguin, Atlantis Marine World, N.Y.
If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with penguins. So when I found out I had an opportunity to pet a penguin (and take a picture with one) I couldn't resist.
4. Riding front row on Griffon Roller Coaster, Busch Gardens, Va.
I don't think I would have done this if my friends didn't push me. Riding Griffon? Fine. Riding first row on a 90 degree drop, that allows you to hang there for a good five-ten seconds staring at the pavement below you before dropping, a whole new level. I wound up riding front row another three times after that.
5. Kingda Ka, Six Flags, N.J.
I still can't believe I actually did this.
6. The Great Flood of '14, Holbrook, N.Y.
I woke up one summer morning to heavy rains. Looked out my window and my street looked like a river. My first car drowned that morning. Needless to say, I didn't make it to work.
7. High-fiving Jimmy Fallon, Studio 6B, N.Y.
Seeing Jimmy Fallon live (three times, might I add) was really really cool but being able to high-five him at the end of his show was even cooler.
8. Diner by the Sea, Long Beach, N.Y.
My parents thought I was crazy for driving to Long Beach just for these shakes but they're awesome, and the drive was totally worth it.
9. Driving by a crime scene, Holbrook, N.Y.
I was coming home from work and I thought something weird was going on. Little did I know what was actually occurring a foot away from my car. The picture caption says it all.
10. Taking a selfie with a raccoon, Holbrook, N.Y.
My parents had to higher someone to trap and get rid of raccoons that were living in our shed. I figured why not take a selfie with a raccoon? He was pretty pissed so I was afraid to get closer to him..
11. Taking a Santa picture with Bionic Baby, Smith Haven Mall, N.Y.
When I was in high school, I had to take care of the Bionic Baby for a weekend as a school project around the holiday season. I thought this would be a funny idea. My teacher thought so too -- she hung up the picture in her classroom and I got extra credit. (Props to my boyfriend for being such a good sport about it.)
