Why my coworkers are the absolute best

Work hard, play even harder.

Why my coworkers are the absolute best

So I got a new job a few months ago, and I was very wary of it. I really don't like girls and all of my coworkers besides two are girls. Clearly, I went in sort of nervous but I'm so thankful for this crazy group of people I call coworkers. So I naturally had to write everyone telling them how great they are, right? I asked everyone their favorite thing about our crazy group and here is what everyone said:

We're Honest/Blunt

That is the understatement of the year. Sugarcoating is a myth around here. Anytime some one does something dumb or isn't doing something the way they should everyone tells them, I'm not kidding, literally everyone.

We communicate

This sort of ties into honesty, but it still applies. We always talk about what is going on in our workplace we communicate issues and praise and everything the other people need to know. Its pretty great because communication is super important with what we do.

We all have the same sick sense of humor

We're pretty gross, we talk about gross things. Bowel Movements, gross medical stuff, and yet we still act professional because we're all the same. I pray for the person who tries to join our team that doesn't have the same sense of humor as us.

We hold each other accountable

So there are 5-10 fast food restaurants within our area of work place and about 99% of the time I want to eat there instead of the lunch I brought for myself. Well my coworkers are the first people to tell me that I don't need it, and to remember that I want to eat better. We practically create programs to help each others bad behaviors and habits.

We're honestly way too entertaining

We are hilarious. Every other thing we say is a joke, but we still manage to get our jobs done. I'm pretty sure we could have a sitcom about our work place and ratings would soar because of how hilarious we are.

Lastly, we are a team

We support each other's lives. It's more than just work to us, these people know everything about us. Who we're dating, what our plans are for the weekends, we just talk about everything.

I'm so grateful that the people I work with care about me more than just how I work, they care about who I am as a person and I'm so lucky to have such great coworkers.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
