Country music is often seen as something that is only appealing to old people and farmers, however there is much more to it than that.
Country music holds a spot for every person's taste. There is more than just the classic slow song sang by someone with a strong southern accent.
Country music has many styles within itself. There is the slow, drawn out songs that may only appeal to those who love country in its classic form. But there are also songs that are a bit more hardcore and upbeat that would appeal to those more interested in rock music. There's also country rap, or as often called "hick hop", that would suit those who prefer the fast beats and rhymes of rap music. There are also many love songs that can suit a sappy mood. And one that many people may look over are country songs that have a good fix of humor in them.
If you are more interested in rock music with heavier beats and instrumentals, you could check out artists such as Brantley Gilbert. A few of his songs that may appeal to you would be "Kick It In The Sticks", "Take It Outside", "The Weekend", or "Read Me My Rights."
Those, along with many others of his, you may really enjoy. Another band to check out in this category would be Florida Georgia Line. Some of their songs you might appreciate would be "This Is How We Roll", "It'z Just What We Do", or "Anything Goes."
These artists along with many others may be your type of country.
Now on to what I like to call hick hop. This is a genre of country that is unheard of by many, but quite interesting. Some of the big names here will be Colt Ford, Upchurch, and Big Smo. Some of the songs I would suggest those interested in this to check out would be, "Hell Yeah" by Upchurch, "Workin' On" by Colt Ford, "Southern Land" by Upchurch and Taylor Holbrook, and "Answer To No One" by Colt Ford and JJ Lawhorn.
These feature both fast beats and rhymes of rap, with less emphasis on the things rap music today seems to focus on (drugs, violence, and degrading women). It takes a bit of getting used to, but paying attention to the lyrics and beats goes a long way in this category.
As in every genre, country has its love songs, and tons of them. This is true to every genre because what sparks a good emotional connection more than a broken heart or a happy heart?
While nearly every artist has a song or two that could fit into this category, I'll try to pick a few of the best. Some of my favorites have been put into the world by Lee Brice, Chase Rice, and Jake Owen. Some of Jake Owen's best would have to be "American Country Love Song" and "Anywhere With You." Now for Chase Rice I'd have to choose "How She Rolls" and "Beer With The Boys." It is going to be tough not to list a majority of Lee Brice's songs under this category, all of which are so good, but I'll narrow it to a few. Some of the best in my opinion would be "Hard To Love", "I Don't Dance", "Love Like Crazy", and "A Woman Like You."
Now to the one of my favorite areas of country music: the humor. There are some songs that just leave you chuckling, for me mostly because I can relate. The first that comes to mind is "Upper Middle Class White Trash" by Lee Brice. Another funny one is "Sheriff You Want To" by Luke Combs. "I'm Gonna Miss Her" by Brad Paisley is another that always brings a good smile to my face.
There's also a tremendous amount of country songs that will teach you good lessons in life. Then there are those that make you reflect on your past, dream of your future, and appreciate where you are now. There are many songs that make you think of family and friends as well, which can be funny, emotional, or just calming.
Some of my favorite artists I would strongly suggest you check out are Brantley Gilbert, Luke Combs, Lee Brice, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell, Florida Georgia Line, Kip Moore, Blake Shelton, and Josh Thompson. The list could go on and on, but these guys could get you started on a beautiful journey as you get lost in some great music.
Country can help you relax, get pumped up, make you sad, make you laugh, and just about everything in between. It just depends on the song you're listening to in that moment.
That's the beauty of it.
It isn't all just for one kind of person or one mood. It doesn't matter where you're from, what mood you're in, or anything else, there's a country song perfect for every moment.
