I'm sure most of you are feeling just about the same way I am... It's just about time to go back to school.
Summer's been, well, less than extraordinary, full of work and maybe school, and you miss your college friends and you miss your beautiful campus. You miss the atmosphere of school, your favorite hotspots near the area, and football games. If this sounds like you, you are not alone, as I just described myself, too.
As I'm writing this article, I have 28 days until I move in. So, by the time you read this it will be less than that. Weird, huh? At one point, I thought summer was taking forever and I had endless time to enjoy the sun. It is currently 46 days until the first day of school. WHAT? No, but really. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. School? I have to do that again? I'd rather just tailgate and see my college friends and walk around campus and love fall. Okay, I always love fall, but fall without going to class would be ideal.
Home has been... Interesting, to say the least. After completing my first year away from home, coming back was definitely an experience. My relationship with my parents is different; I survived practically an entire year all by myself. My home friends are awesome ,of course, but being home and seeing them made me realize how much I missed them all year, and how much I love my college friends, too.
I wish I could say I LOVED summer and it was THE BEST summer of my life, but in actuality, I worked a lot and went to class and did some fun things, but nothing life-changing. I hope my summers to come improve always -- which I think is pretty normal. Nowhere to go but up, right?
So, my friends, the beginning of the next school year is in sight. I can see it in the distance. I'm ready, are you?
The countdown will definitely continue until the second I step foot on campus and realize I am home, once again. I like the countdown though -- every day I get closer to the finish line. I want to be surrounded by my fellow Spartans, I want to feel the school spirit through my veins and I want the clarity of beginning a new semester.
Your countdown is probably close to mine, perhaps a few days off, but I know you're counting down, too. The anticipation is close to killing you... Can we just be back already?
The answer is yes. Very soon. Sooner than you really think. It is time to prepare and bring everything you forgot last year (um, I already have stuff packed).
Your friends miss you, too (I hope). You can do this. I believe in you. It's almost time to go back... Keep your countdown clock going until the last second. Because then you'll be home.
