This past week I finished watching every season of “Community” for the first time and something that I noticed is even though Abed’s meta-fictive story telling creates for unrealistic plot lines, he is the most insightful character on the show.
1. “Chaos dominates enough of our lives. The universe is an endless, raging sea of randomness. Our job isn't to fight but to weather it together on the raft of life. A raft healed together by those few, rare beautiful things that we know to be predictable.” S3 E4, Remedial Chaos Theory
2. "When you know who you are and what you like about yourself, changing for other people isn't such a big deal." S1 E17, Physical Education
3. "I can tell life from TV, Jeff. TV makes sense; it has structure, logic, rules, and likeable leading men." S2 E1, Anthropology 101
4. "The meaning of Christmas is that we give it meaning." S2 E11, Abed' Uncontrollable Christmas
5. "It's (TV) comfort. It's a friend you've known so well, and for so long you just let it be with you and it needs to be okay for it to have a bad day or phone in a day." S6 E13, Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television
