As humans, we thrive on the drama; it excites us. So when we hear about theories that seem to explain the unexplainable, we eat it up. A conspiracy theory, by definition is a belief that some influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event-in layman's terms; it’s something that blows our freaking minds. There have been countless conspiracy theories to be introduced during our lifetime and, I have to admit, a few of them actually got me.
Paul McCartney conspiracy:
There is a theory that the famous Beatle singer actually died in 1966 and the rest of the band hired someone that had the same mannerisms, looks, voice and personality as the original McCartney. Billy Shears was hired to be his stand in, but the rest of the band soon regretted their decision to hire a poser so they started leaving clues in their music. There is lots of evidence to support this theory, but one that really struck me was if you play the song "I’m So Tired" backwards you clearly hear John singing “Paul is dead, I miss him, I miss him.” If that doesn’t send a chill down your spine I’m not sure what will.
Bernstein Bears conspiracy:
Everyone remembers that loveable Bear family that taught us so many lessons throughout our childhood, but what people don’t seem to remember is how their names were spelt. Lots of people including myself, remembers is being spelt BerenstEin Bears, but apparently it’s actually spelled BerenstAin Bears. Several theorists are chalking this up to the Mandela Effect (false memories and parallel realities). Another theory that I just can’t seem to wrap my head around is the Butterfly Effect. This means at some point in the years 1986-2011, someone traveled back in time and altered the timeline of history so that Berenstein became Barenstain. The Internet has been going absolutely mad about this whole ordeal, I guess that’s why they say don’t mess with time travel? So are you Team E or Team A?
Moon landing conspiracy:
This isn’t a new conspiracy, but it seems that people are trying to come up with new stories about the Moon landing everyday. The latest theory is that is was faked-obviously--but that it was all filmed underwater. Crazy right?! There have been videos circulating the Internet where you can see and air-bubble emerges out of an astronaut’s helmet. What do you think, Moon landing real or fake?
Mythical creatures:
We have heard of urban legends of such creatures such as the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot forever; there is tons and tons of evidence, like pictures, journal entries and even movies videos of these mystical creatures roaming the Earth among us and yet people are still skeptical about them. In my opinion, it’s pretty cool to believe because, at this point, it’s almost magical. All I have to say is that the ocean makes up 71 percent of our planet and 95 percent of the ocean has yet to be explored, so we actually have no idea who or what is down there, so I’m pretty much going to believe anything.
Pixar conspiracy:
We all know there are so many Disney theories and all of the movies are somehow connected; just thinking about it makes my head spin. There is one theory I found most interesting above the rest: The witch from "Brave" is actually Boo from "Monsters, Inc." Now before I lose you hear me out, it is somewhat complicated and does involve magic and time travel. Basically Boo learned how to travel through doors just like her monster BFF’s Mike and Sully-or less formally knows as KITTY! She is so determined to see Sully again that when she grows up she travels to the time that Brave takes place: medieval Scotland. Why? Because she hears of the magical Whisps, thinking that they will lead her back to Sully. All of this explains her fascination with wood and why whenever she opens and closes a door, the Witch disappears, plus if you look close enough you can see a carving of Sully in her cabin.
Of course there are many many more conspiracies’ out there, just waiting to be explored. What is your favorite theory?
