Being A Concert Junkie

Judge us if you want, but concerts are our life.

Being A Concert Junkie
ANNA ADELMAN of Static Magazine

There are people who hate going to concerts and there are people who like going to concerts.... and then there are people who plan their year around concerts. Those people can easily be called concert junkies.

(Hello, my name is Maeghan... and I'm a concert junkie)

Being a concert junkie is totally fun! & if you aren't sure if you are one or not, here's a good list to start checking off to figure it out!

  1. The whole ride to the concert you have the band on repeat... as if you don't already know every single word to every song.
  2. When a tour to any of your favorite bands or singers are announced, you immediately start making plans to figure out which shows you can go to and VIPs you can afford.
  3. You save up money any time you can just to be able to afford as many concert tickets throughout the year as you can.
  4. You have probably lied at least one time to someone about how much money you spent on your concert ticket or VIPs because you knew someone would probably judge you for it.
  5. You'll even travel to a different city or possibly a different state just to see your fav band in concert if they aren't touring in your cit
  6. Others don't understand why you want/need to see your favorite band on tour multiple times in the same tour... but you don't care. So what if it's the same show with the same songs being played... it's just as amazing the 3rd time as it is the 1st.
  7. Concert people are some of your favorite people because there is always an immediate connection when you meet another fan.
  8. You plan out every minute of the whole day and night of the concert
  9. You instantly get a rush when you walk into the venue
  10. You get chills the minute the lights start to fade when the concert is starting
  11. A few notes in and you can already identify the song that is about to be played
  12. You get the biggest butterflies in your stomach as soon as they are seen on stage... I mean, it just reminds you that they are actually real!
  13. Don't even get me started on whenever you get to meet the singer or band... the hug and picture you take with them is absolutely priceless.
  14. You never get tired of hearing them live in concert. You still get chills every time.
  15. And when you haven't been to a concert in a while, you start getting that itch that you need to go to one.
  16. Being at a concert feels like being at your second home.
  17. When you see your friends after the concert, you find yourself replaying every minute of the concert over again while you tell them all about it.
  18. You experience post concert depression. Whens the next time you can see them again?

Anyone who fits the list above is definitely a concert junkie. And you should be damn proud of it! Keep being those faithful fans and go to as many concerts as you can!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
